On April 18th, Sky Sports quoted Marc Kosicke, Klopp's agent, regarding reports that the German coach would replace Carlo Ancelotti as Real Madrid's manager.
"Klopp's representatives say he is very happy in his role as Global Sporting Director at Red Bull. Klopp still has no intention of taking on a head coach role next season – neither at Real Madrid nor with the Brazilian national team. Xabi Alonso remains Real's top target," Sky Sports reported.
As for Klopp, he had previously commented on the possibility of returning to coaching back in March. The German strategist revealed: “I did think about the possibility of returning to coaching again. In the 1,081 games I’ve managed, I’ve lost many finals, alongside a few wins. The answer right now is no, I’m happy here.”
Klopp, 57, ended his role as Liverpool's head coach at the end of the 2023/24 season. He is currently serving as Red Bull's Global Director of Sport, overseeing the group's football operations.
Klopp is one of the candidates Real Madrid are targeting to replace Ancelotti, who is likely to leave "Los Blancos" after this season. Other candidates include Xabi Alonso of Bayer Leverkusen and Andoni Iraola of Bournemouth.
