At the filming commencement ceremony, producer Will Vu announced that Miss Ky Duyen will play the lead female role in "Sister Sister 3 ". The character she portrays is Thi Mau, a familiar figure in Northern Vietnamese folklore.
Continuing the spirit of the previous two films, Sister Sister 3 is revealed to continue pursuing a psychological thriller genre, with many plot twists, dangerous relationships, and the characteristic seductive atmosphere of the series.
Sharing her thoughts on her new role, Ky Duyen said she was excited to participate in the project, especially since the film was shot in a setting familiar to her as a native of Northern Vietnam. For her, Thi Mau is a character that has been associated with her childhood memories of traditional Vietnamese opera. The beauty queen hopes to be able to portray and explore a new aspect of this character, while admitting that she feels considerable pressure.
Unlike the previous two films, which were set in the South, Sister Sister 3 takes the story to the North, with filming locations in Bac Ninh . This has led audiences to expect to see the distinctive cultural features and beautiful scenery of the Quan Ho region on the big screen.
Regarding the choice of Bac Ninh as the main setting, producer Will Vu said that it is a locality with a rich history and culture, attracting the attention of many artists. Through the film's story, the team hopes to contribute to conveying the unique culture of the Quan Ho region to the audience.
According to the film crew, the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province also facilitated the film crew during production, from arranging filming locations and accommodation to ensuring security and order.
Currently, besides Ky Duyen, the production team has not announced any other cast members for "Sister Sister 3" . The film is expected to be released in 2026.
