
Today (June 11), more than 1.2 million candidates nationwide completed the first day of the exam with the two subjects of literature and mathematics.
The total number of candidates taking the Literature exam was 1,203,039 (99.56% participation rate). The total number of candidates taking the Mathematics exam was 1,197,195 (99.42% participation rate).
On the first day of the exam, 27 candidates nationwide were suspended for violating exam regulations (25 candidates using mobile phones, 2 candidates using unauthorized materials); of which 16 candidates were suspended in Literature and 11 candidates in Mathematics; no officials violated the regulations.
The mathematics and literature exam questions closely follow the structure of the sample exam published by the Ministry of Education and Training ; continuing to demonstrate the innovative direction in testing and evaluation towards developing students' competencies.
In the literature exam, the questions demonstrated both a broad and up-to-date perspective, addressing new and practical issues of the digital age, and having real relevance to students' studies and daily lives.
Meanwhile, the math exam clearly differentiates between subjects, requiring students to have a solid grasp of skills and a strong foundation of knowledge, and to know how to connect knowledge from various learned areas to solve problems. The content of the exam focuses on developing self-learning abilities, analytical thinking, mathematical reasoning, and the ability to apply knowledge to solve practical situations, closely adhering to the requirements of interdisciplinary integration.
Preliminary assessments indicate that the weather in most provinces and cities was favorable, and traffic was safe, ensuring that all candidates arrived for the exam on time.
At the end of the first day of the exam, testing centers nationwide conducted the exams safely, seriously, and in accordance with regulations. The examination boards performed their assigned tasks well, and invigilators proactively and promptly detected and handled cases of candidates violating exam regulations. Most candidates remained calm, confident, and took the exam seriously.
The exam will be held tomorrow morning (June 12th). Candidates take the elective subjects (50 minutes/subject); the first subject's exam papers are distributed at 7:30 AM, and the exam begins at 7:35 AM; the second subject's exam papers are distributed at 8:35 AM, and the exam begins at 8:40 AM.
The National Examination Steering Committee requests that examination boards continue to direct examination centers to strictly adhere to examination regulations; strengthen preventive measures, promptly and seriously handle violations of examination regulations by candidates, especially the use of mobile phones, high-tech devices, and AI to solve exam questions. Candidates registering to take only one subject should pay attention to the time to attend the exam according to the schedule.
