The war has been over for nearly 50 years, but the memories of a time of heroic and resilient youth are still almost intact in the memories of the youth volunteer soldiers.
July 15 is the traditional day of the Vietnamese youth volunteer force, an occasion to remember the image of the resilient, indomitable, and brave youth volunteers who completed the task of protecting the Fatherland.
Despite his advanced age, former youth volunteer Nguyen Thai Huu in Lien Bao ward, Vinh Yen city still makes everyone admire him for his optimism and rare clarity. Memories of a time of war are still intact in his heart.
Mr. Do Van Binh, Thanh Lang town, Binh Xuyen district, has turned 90 this year. He is a former youth volunteer who was responsible for bomb disposal, clearing routes, and opening roads during the Dien Bien Phu campaign. At that time, Mr. Binh and his comrades brought the spirit of "volunteering" to the battlefields, contributing to the Army's heroic achievements and building the glorious tradition of the heroic Vietnam People's Army.
Although they are now old and their health is gradually declining, the former youth volunteers still maintain the traditional "fire" of the youth volunteer force loyal to the Party and the people; always setting an example in studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style, actively contributing to the construction of civilized urban areas and new rural areas. Celebrating the 74th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Vietnam Youth Volunteer Force (July 15, 1950 - July 15, 2024), we are proud of the heroic history and activities of the Vietnam Youth Volunteer Force in general and the Vinh Phuc Province Youth Volunteer Force in particular, which have contributed significantly to the achievements of our army and people in the resistance war to save the country.
The Association of Former Youth Volunteers of Vinh Phuc province continues to promote the tradition of overcoming difficulties, bravery, intelligence and creativity of previous generations of youth volunteers, and continues to encourage members to undertake and excellently complete new tasks.
