Expectations for a new phase of development.

The 11th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front concluded successfully. Speaking to the Saigon Liberation Newspaper, experts, scientists, businesspeople, overseas Vietnamese, and citizens expressed their confidence that the Vietnam Fatherland Front in the new term will continue to play its role as a bridge between the Party, the State, and the people, serving as the core in consolidating and promoting the strength of national unity in building and defending the Fatherland.

* Professor Mac Quoc Anh, Director of the Institute of Economics and Business Development:

Expectations for the Front's forums

Mr. Mac Quoc Anh.jpg

This is a new term in which socio -political organizations come together under one roof – the Vietnam Fatherland Front – to promote solidarity. The business community has sent many voices and recommendations to the Fatherland Front system. This information helps strengthen the critical review and supervision process, enabling the timely detection of shortcomings affecting the production and business activities of enterprises.

This is something we hope and expect will continue to focus on and be effectively implemented in the new term. This term, the number of members of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front has increased, with a growing number of people working in the private sector, which is a welcome sign, and I expect that the quality will improve along with the quantity.

* Dr. Tran Hai Linh, Member of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, President of the Vietnam-Korea Business and Investment Association (VKBIA):

Maximizing the effectiveness of resources from Vietnamese people living abroad.

Dr. Tran Hai Linh.jpg

I expect that in the new term, the Vietnam Fatherland Front will continue to strongly innovate its working methods in a more open, modern, and substantive direction. Most importantly, it needs to shift from the mindset of "mobilizing overseas Vietnamese to return to their homeland" to the mindset of "accompanying and creating mechanisms for overseas Vietnamese to participate in national development."

Overseas Vietnamese not only wish to contribute emotionally or provide material support, but also want to participate directly in policy-making, science and technology development, innovation, education , green economy, and international integration. I particularly expect the Vietnam Fatherland Front to better fulfill its role in gathering overseas Vietnamese intellectuals, experts, and entrepreneurs to participate in social critique, provide policy input, and monitor the implementation of policies related to overseas Vietnamese.

In addition, it is necessary to further promote the development of in-depth networks connecting overseas Vietnamese with localities, businesses, universities, and innovation centers in the country.

* Ms. Ung Thi Xuan Huong, President of the Ho Chi Minh City Lawyers Association, Head of the Advisory Council on Democracy and Law of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City:

A bridge for people to participate in building the Party and the government.

Ms. Ung Thi Xuan Huong.jpg

Social monitoring and criticism are essentially democratic tools that help the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the people to monitor, evaluate, and make recommendations on the activities of state agencies, ensuring the legitimate rights of the people, improving management efficiency, and implementing the motto "the people know, the people discuss, the people do, the people inspect, the people supervise, and the people benefit".

This is a widespread, people-oriented activity that contributes to controlling power and building a clean and strong Party and government. As the Chairman of the Advisory Council on Democracy and Law of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, advising the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Ho Chi Minh City on social supervision and criticism, I believe that for this activity to be truly effective, supervision and criticism must focus on pressing and urgent issues of public concern, as well as major, groundbreaking policies for sustainable local and national economic development.

* Mr. NGUYEN HONG HUY, Director of Hallelu Chocolate Company Limited, Outstanding Young Citizen of Ho Chi Minh City 2023:

Boosting Vietnamese Brands

Mr. Nguyen Hong Huy.jpg

I expect the Vietnam Fatherland Front to contribute to promoting the "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods" campaign, spreading it strongly in a new and more substantive way: prioritizing consumption and jointly building confidence in Vietnamese creativity, technology, and values. I hope that the new term of the Vietnam Fatherland Front will continue to promote its role in monitoring and accelerating administrative reforms, creating favorable conditions for people and businesses to operate in production and business.

It is expected that the Vietnam Fatherland Front will continue to act as a bridge, helping Vietnamese businesses connect more with the national distribution system, trade promotion programs, tourism, education, and media; while also building social trust in domestic brands, encouraging long-term investment, and fostering aspirations to expand globally.

* Venerable Danh Lung, Deputy Head of the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Association in Ho Chi Minh City, Abbot of Candaransi Pagoda (Xuan Hoa Ward, Ho Chi Minh City):

To bring the Vietnam Fatherland Front closer to the people.

Venerable Danh Lung.jpg

For Buddhism, the spirit of "Buddhism accompanying the nation" and the motto "serving sentient beings is offering to the Buddhas" have always been the foundation for social activities. Therefore, social welfare work continues to be identified as one of the key programs of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha and the Ho Chi Minh City Buddhist Sangha in the new term.

The greatest expectation is that charitable activities will not only provide immediate support but also aim for sustainable livelihood development. Therefore, more effective coordination is needed between the Vietnam Fatherland Front, local authorities, and religious organizations to form social welfare models that are both broad, reaching many localities and population groups, and deep, enabling people to sustainably improve their lives; and that can shift from "relief" to "empowering livelihoods."

* Ms. NGUYEN THANH NGUYET, Chairperson of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Binh Hung Hoa Ward, Ho Chi Minh City:

Competition and social welfare

Ms. Nguyen Thanh Nguyet.jpg

Binh Hung Hoa Ward is a densely populated urban area with nearly 187,000 inhabitants, experiencing rapid urbanization and facing numerous pressures related to social welfare, urban order, environment, housing, and employment. Therefore, the Vietnam Fatherland Front of the ward continues to leverage the strength of national unity through the proactive, responsible, and positive participation of all segments of the population in patriotic emulation movements and campaigns, gradually building a civilized urban lifestyle and improving the material and spiritual lives of the people.

We will supplement the action plan of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in the ward to concretize the targets of the Resolution of the 11th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front into practice. We will particularly focus on implementing emulation movements and social welfare programs; mobilizing the "For the Poor" fund to support disadvantaged households; participating in resolving issues related to people's livelihoods, the environment, security and order, and improving the quality of life for the people...

* Mr. DUONG TAN LINH, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hoa Hoi Commune, Ho Chi Minh City:

Expand channels for receiving public feedback.

Mr. Duong Tan Linh.jpg

Working at the grassroots level, my greatest wish is for the work of the Vietnam Fatherland Front to continue to be strongly and substantively reformed, truly close to the people, and promptly grasp the thoughts and aspirations of the people. Accordingly, Fatherland Front officials need to increase their visits to the grassroots, directly meeting and listening to the people in order to promptly reflect and propose to the Party committees and authorities to consider and resolve issues of concern to the people.

At the same time, we will promote the application of information technology and digital transformation in the activities of the Vietnam Fatherland Front to expand channels for receiving people's opinions, improve the effectiveness of propaganda and mobilization, and enhance interaction with the people in a way that is quick, convenient, open, and transparent.

* Mr. Loc Xuan Chao, Hoang Su Phi commune, Tuyen Quang province:

Get close to the people to listen.

Mr. Loc Xuan Chao.jpg

The role of the Fatherland Front at the grassroots level is crucial because it is closest to residential areas and directly hears the voices and feedback of the people. In particular, Fatherland Front workers in remote areas and ethnic minority regions play a very important role, especially in mediation.

Frontline workers need to listen, understand, and fulfill their roles, turning major conflicts into minor ones, and minor ones into non-existent ones. Currently, digital transformation in mountainous areas is very important, especially for middle-aged women. We hope that during this term, digital transformation for ethnic minorities in mountainous areas will continue to receive attention and be implemented.
