As a locality located at the western gateway of Da Nang city, overcoming difficulties caused by natural disasters and the COVID-19 pandemic, in the 2020 - 2025 term, the Party Committee and people of La Dee commune created a special mark in socio-economic development, gradually transforming strongly.

Mr. Bui The Anh, Chairman of La Dee Commune People's Committee, said that in the past term, the agricultural and forestry economy was identified as the local spearhead industry, with a total annual planting area of 776.58 hectares and food output of 1,077 tons/year.

In particular, the model of growing medicinal plants under forest canopy, large trees, garden - pond - barn - forest models... has initially shown effectiveness, creating sustainable livelihoods for people.

Thanks to that, the average annual poverty rate has decreased significantly, about 5.73% (in the old La Dee commune) and 14.88% (in the old Dac Toi commune).

La Dee commune's trade and services have initially developed, with 19 business establishments and traditional products such as brocade, weaving, baskets, and mats... gradually being commercialized, aiming to build typical OCOP products.

In addition, the commune has many attractive ecological spots, especially the traditional culture of the Co Tu and Ta Rieng people, which is being oriented to be developed into unique tourism products.

Comprehensive development goals

At the recent 1st Congress of La Dee Commune Party Committee (term 2025 - 2030), the motto "Solidarity - Discipline - Innovation - Development" continued to be established as a consistent driving force.

In which, the Party Committee identifies economic development as the center, Party building as the key, culture as the spiritual foundation, national defense and security as an important and regular task.

In the 2020 - 2025 term, La Dee commune organized 27 bilateral patrols, maintained 10 self-governing border protection teams in villages, and organized twinned residential clusters on both sides of the Vietnam - Laos border to strengthen the relationship of friendship and cooperation.

According to Mr. Chau Van Ngo, Secretary of the La De Commune Party Committee, the general goal of the locality, in addition to effectively exploiting potential and improving people's lives, is also linked to the task of developing and maintaining national border sovereignty.

In particular, the focus is on promoting economic restructuring, promoting agricultural development associated with eco-tourism and trade in border areas.

At the same time, focus on building a multi-value agricultural model and linking sustainable value chains.

Based on the 20 key targets set out, such as maintaining 600 hectares of cultivation/year, developing 2-3 OCOP products with 3 stars, reducing the poverty rate by 3-5% per year, 100% of people participating in health insurance, 100% of students universalizing education at the right age, communes meeting national criteria on health..., the locality expects to create a strategic breakthrough, helping to develop comprehensively.

“In addition, we believe that preserving and developing traditional crafts and Co Tu culture will create a unique identity, help open up tourism development directions, and contribute to increasing people's income,” said Mr. Ngo.
