Lam Dong province plans to develop a high-quality rice cultivation area of ​​over 1,900 hectares.

(Lam Dong Online) - The People's Committee of Lam Dong province has issued a decision approving a planning area for high-yield, high-quality rice cultivation in the province, with a total planned area of ​​1,905.5 hectares.

Residents of Da Long commune, Dam Rong district, are harvesting high-yield rice from the Summer-Autumn crop of 2024.

According to the decision, the total planned area is distributed as follows: Da Huoai district 1,260.5 hectares, Di Linh district 320 hectares, Duc Trong district 270 hectares, and Dam Rong district 55 hectares.

The Provincial People's Committee requests the People's Committees of the districts to specifically determine the boundaries of the planning area in the field and strictly manage the approved high-yield, high-quality rice cultivation planning area in accordance with regulations.

Simultaneously, publicly announce and widely disseminate information about the planned high-yield, high-quality rice cultivation areas to relevant organizations and individuals. Implement policies to support and protect rice-growing land; invest in and build infrastructure, and apply modern science and technology to the planned high-yield, high-quality rice cultivation areas. Promote, encourage, and guide people to use high-yield, high-quality rice varieties and apply advanced technical and technological processes associated with sustainable production, and periodically report the results of implementation to the Department of Agriculture and Environment annually.

The Department of Finance, in coordination with the Department of Agriculture and Environment and the People's Committees of the districts, shall advise and propose to the Provincial People's Committee the source of funding and the allocation of funding in accordance with the provisions of Government Decree No. 112 of 2025.

The Department of Agriculture and Environment is responsible for monitoring, guiding, and inspecting the implementation of high-yield, high-quality rice cultivation planning areas in the province according to regulations. It will coordinate with localities to transfer high-yield, high-quality rice varieties and advanced farming solutions for sustainable production into production.
