1. Avoid pulling hair.

Hair is very flexible. Studies show that straightening hair too forcefully can cause permanent damage.

2. Avoid using high-temperature hair styling tools.

Using heat to style your hair can dehydrate hair follicles, making them more prone to damage. Hair dryers and straighteners can both strip moisture from your hair, damaging it over time.

3. Do not treat or bleach your hair with chemicals.

Chemical hair treatments such as bleaching can cause keratin molecules to break down, damaging the hair. Therefore, to prevent hair loss, you should limit the use of hair dyes and perms.

4. Use a gentle shampoo that is suitable for your hair type.

The purpose of shampooing is to remove dirt and excess oil from the hair. However, shampooing too often can damage the hair. Sulfates and some other ingredients in shampoos can lead to frizzy hair, dry scalp, and breakage if used frequently.
