Making money from ecotourism models.

With his dynamism and willingness to think outside the box and take risks, Mr. Tong Duc Nhan from Hun village, Chieng Coi ward, has boldly developed an eco-tourism destination combining recreational fishing and culinary services, becoming an attractive destination that brings economic benefits and increases income.

Recognizing the growing demand for recreation, relaxation, and eco-tourism experiences among the local population, and recognizing the area's advantages in natural landscapes and the unique cultural identity of the Thai ethnic group, in 2019, Mr. Tong Duc Nhan decided to invest in renovating the pond and garden area, planning the landscape, and investing in infrastructure to build an eco -tourism model combining recreational fishing services. Mr. Nhan shared: "We determined that creating something unique was essential to attract customers. Therefore, in addition to fishing services, our family has also developed traditional Thai dishes, organized cultural exchanges, bonfires, and created an experiential space close to nature."

To enhance the destination's appeal, he continued to invest in landscaping, planting lotus flowers, lantana, fruit trees, and building miniature landscapes and photo-taking areas. Around the eco-tourism area, various fruit trees such as tangerines and plums are planted to create a cool, green space and diversify the experiential activities for tourists, making his family's eco-tourism destination increasingly well-known. In 2025, his family expects to welcome approximately 5,000 visitors, generating revenue exceeding 1 billion VND. In the first five months of the year alone, they welcomed around 2,000 visitors, earning 600 million VND.

Ms. Lai Thi Thu, Secretary of the Youth Union of Chieng Coi Ward, commented: "Mr. Pham Duc Nhan is one of the exemplary figures in local economic development, always dynamic and actively participating in Youth Union movements. Not only has he enriched his family, but Mr. Nhan also actively shares his experience and helps create seasonal jobs for young people in the village. This economic model has contributed to the development of community tourism, promoted ethnic cultural identity, and created more motivation for many farmers to boldly innovate their thinking and strive to become wealthy."

Thanks to the effectiveness of the model, along with a spirit of learning and creativity in production, in 2025, Tong Duc Nhan will be recognized as an outstanding young person in the service sector's startup; in 2026, he will receive a certificate of merit from the Provincial Association for the Promotion of Learning in the "Learning Never Ends" movement.
