Muong E builds a cultural life.

Muong E commune has nearly 3,200 households living in 26 villages, comprising five ethnic groups: Thai, Kho Mu, Khang, Mong, and Muong. Implementing the "All People Unite to Build a Culturally Rich Life" movement, the commune focuses on building a civilized lifestyle, preserving and promoting ethnic cultural identity, and contributing to improving the material and spiritual lives of the people.

Every year, the Steering Committee for the "All People Unite to Build a Culturally Rich Life" movement in the commune assigns members to villages to propagate and mobilize the people to unite and help each other eliminate hunger and poverty; practice a cultured lifestyle; strictly abide by the law; and build a green, clean, and beautiful environment... At the same time, they review cultural, information, and sports facilities in the villages. The entire commune currently has 26 football fields in the villages and 4 artificial turf fields; 13 villages still need investment in building new village cultural houses and cultural facilities to serve the cultural activities of the people.

Mr. Lo Anh Vien, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Muong E commune, said: The People's Committee of the commune has developed a plan to implement the "All people unite to build a cultured life" movement, linked with the tasks of building new rural areas and patriotic emulation movements. They are strengthening propaganda and mobilization of the people to adopt a civilized lifestyle; encouraging the development of cultural, artistic, and sports movements to attract widespread participation. The entire commune currently has 26 amateur performing arts groups and 20 sports teams.

Implementing the principle of solidarity and mutual assistance to eradicate hunger and reduce poverty, the commune has mobilized the people to continue to effectively exploit the potential and advantages of the locality to develop agriculture towards commodity production, linked with the development of OCOP products and tourism. They maintain intensive cultivation of over 300 hectares of rice paddies with two harvests per year, yielding 1,800 tons of rice; cultivate over 400 hectares of tea, yielding 1,000 tons of fresh tea leaves per year; over 625 hectares of coffee trees, yielding 1,200 tons of fresh coffee beans per year; and nearly 1,000 hectares of macadamia nuts, plums, etc. In addition, they maintain livestock farming with over 11,160 head of cattle and 44,900 head of poultry.

They also focus on building harmonious families and educating children to avoid social vices. Since the beginning of the year, no law violations have been recorded in the commune. By 2025, 75% of households in the commune are expected to achieve the "Culturally Rich Family" title.

The artisans of Lua village, Muong E commune, are passing on their rattan and bamboo weaving skills to the younger generation.

Mr. Luong Van Trong, Party Secretary and Head of Mau Xa village, said: "In response to the 'All people unite to build a cultured life' movement, the village sets a specific goal each year, such as maintaining the number of activities of the community arts clubs at 2-3 sessions/week; strictly adhering to the policies and laws of the State and local regulations. Every week, we mobilize the villagers to participate in cleaning the residential area, the internal village roads, and the main village roads, creating a green, clean, and beautiful landscape."

Muong E also focuses heavily on preserving the traditional weaving and rattan crafts of the Thai ethnic group in Lua and Chieng Ve villages. With distinctive products such as: ep khau (a type of woven mat), meal trays, fishing nets, baskets, and other woven items... These products are sold to meet the needs of the local people and tourists, with prices ranging from 80,000 to 120,000 VND per item, contributing to additional income for the villagers.

Mr. Lo Van Hoan, Party Secretary and Head of Lua Village, Muong E Commune, shared: "Our village's products have already received orders from several product showrooms inside and outside the province. We hope that our rattan and bamboo handicrafts will continue to be promoted more widely to help our people earn income from these traditional local products. Currently, the Party Committee and the Village Management Board are continuing to encourage artisans to teach traditional crafts to young people in the village and commune."
