Until now, the problem of text messages or calls from junk SIM cards still haunts mobile users in Vietnam.

Directly report phone numbers that show signs of harassment

When constantly bothered by spam messages or calls from spam SIMs, people need to proactively report immediately. This is the fastest way to help the switchboard identify and handle those violating phone numbers.

To report a spam message, compose a message with the syntax: S (phone number sending spam message - spam message content) and send it to 156 (or 5656).

Similarly, if you are bothered by spam calls, you compose: V (phone number spreading spam calls - spam call content) and send to 156 (or 5656).

Sign up for the ad-free list

The Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention ( Ministry of Public Security ) has deployed a Do Not Call (DNC) list management system, allowing all subscribers to register to block annoying calls and advertising messages from spam SIMs.

The first simple way to register for spam call blocking is to compose the syntax DK DNC and send to 5656 (free). This will put your subscription on the "immune" list, effectively blocking automatic advertising content.

You can also register online by accessing the portal at khongquangcao.ais.gov.vn, entering your phone number and confirming with the OTP code to complete.

How to block spam calls from network operators

Each network provider provides its own syntax for users to block internal promotional messages. Although this method does not block spam SIMs outside the system, it helps reduce the amount of unnecessary promotional messages from your own service provider.

If you use Viettel , just compose a message with the syntax: TC send to 199. This will help you block all messages with promotional or advertising content from this network.

If you use MobiFone , compose a message with the syntax: TC send to 9214. This will block all service promotion messages from MobiFone sent from phone numbers starting with 098 or named MobiFone.

For VinaPhone subscribers, text TC to 18001091 to block spam messages.

Use third-party spam call and spam message blocking services

If the above measures are not enough, you can use software to block spam calls and spam messages such as TrueCaller, SMS Shield, Hiya, VeroSMS. These applications not only rely on information from the network operator, but also build a database through contributions from the user community.

Thanks to that, they can immediately identify and warn of phone numbers that have harassed many other people, helping you distinguish and effectively reject service solicitation or scam calls.
