Spreading the spirit of April 30th through photos.

At the Dong Nai Provincial Event and Foreign Affairs Center, 50 photographs are being displayed, capturing moments of the forces participating in training in preparation for the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

Five photographers contributed their images to the public: Nguyen An, Thanh Chung, Lo Van Hop, Nguyen Van Hoa, and Cong Nghia. Viewing these photos, the public not only sees the arduous training spirit of the soldiers but is also inspired by a sense of national pride.

Don't miss this half-century moment.

To capture these "beautiful half-century moments" to present to the public, for over two months the photographers immersed themselves in the training atmosphere of the soldiers at the training grounds of the Southeast Region Mobile Police Regiment (Bien Hoa City) and at Bien Hoa Airport. Especially when the mobile forces from the North came to Dong Nai for joint training, the photographers had even more "material" to create photographs from a wider range of perspectives.

Author Nguyen An shared: “Throughout this time, wherever there were troops training for the parade, we went there to ‘hunt’ for beautiful moments. We didn’t just go once, but many times, because the more we photographed, the more captivated we became by the beauty of the soldiers.”

Author Nguyen Van Chung shared, "Every time I get to observe soldiers training, it's like immersing myself in the atmosphere of preparation for the historic April 30th celebration. Through the lens, we see the arduous training of the soldiers, especially the female police officers, training under the hot sun for extended periods in Dong Nai. We see their sweat dripping down. Every time I successfully capture a scene, seeing the hundred-person formation as one, full of enthusiasm, fills me with immense happiness."

Author Nguyen Van Hoa said: "Getting beautiful photos of pilots training at Bien Hoa Airport was a difficult and arduous journey... Seeing a fleet of planes taking off and gliding over Bien Hoa city's airspace was an indescribable feeling, especially during joint training sessions, with helicopters flying the red flag with a yellow star and the Party flag from Bien Hoa city to the center of Ho Chi Minh City."

Share beautiful moments with the public.

Author Nguyen An, who was present at most of the training sites of the Army and Police forces preparing for the April 30th commemoration from Dong Nai to Ho Chi Minh City, and who also came up with the idea of "collecting photos" to share with the public, said: "Initially, we went 'photo hunting' for soldiers training mainly out of passion, and then we could select photos to participate in photo contests. However, as April 30th approached, the atmosphere became even more vibrant, and the pride for the country was uncontainable. Therefore, we decided to select the most beautiful photos to present to the public right at the Provincial Event and Foreign Affairs Center. We consider this a token of gratitude to the forces that have diligently trained, helping to create beautiful and heroic moments for the nation."

Photographer Lo Van Hop, who is passionate about photographing pilots during training, said: "Capturing beautiful photographic moments and presenting them to the public on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and the reunification of the country is a rare opportunity. Therefore, every training session yields beautiful moments; sometimes I don't want to stop shooting. Choosing which photos to present to the public is also difficult, because I don't know which ones to choose and which ones to leave out, as every moment is filled with emotion about patriotism and the beauty of the soldiers."

Author Nguyen An further shared: “For now, we have had to spend our own money to print the 60x80cm photos to show to the public; we will find funding to cover the costs later. If we don't have that, it's okay if each author contributes a little, because it feels wasteful when beauty isn't shared with the public.” Nguyen An happily confided: “What made us happiest was that when we first delivered the photos to the Provincial Event and Foreign Affairs Center, the local people immediately helped us put the photos on the shelves. Immediately afterwards, it attracted a large crowd of people to see them.”

Ms. Vu Thu Thao, residing in Tan Phong ward (Bien Hoa city):

"Looking at the photos, I can feel the strength of the country."

Over the past few days, the forces have been enthusiastically training and practicing in Bien Hoa city, but I couldn't have imagined such a high level of enthusiasm until I saw the photos shared by the photographers. Looking at these pictures, I felt the strength of the nation and became even more proud of my country.
