Promoting a healthy lifestyle in the community.

Having previously served as Director of EximBank Bien Hoa and now as Director of VietABank Bien Hoa (in Tran Bien ward), facing numerous pressures, Ms. Pham Thi Ngoc Ha, President of the Dong Nai City Gymnastics Federation, has nevertheless consistently managed her work to maintain her daily exercise routine for many years.

This is not only how she takes care of herself, but also reflects a positive and proactive attitude; helping to improve physical and mental health, reduce stress after work, and especially always having a source of positive energy to spread to those around her.

Set "iron" discipline for yourself.

Since elementary school, Ms. Ha has been passionate about exercise and sports . According to Ms. Ha, her family lives in Long Binh ward – home to the Bien Hoa 2 Industrial Park. The roads in the industrial park are long, wide, and have little traffic in the early morning. Trees line both sides of the roads, providing fresh and pleasant air… making it ideal for walking and jogging, offering a relaxing feeling and a great way to start the day with energy. Therefore, Ms. Ha took advantage of this space to exercise daily and maintained this habit throughout her high school, university, and even after starting work.

After graduating from Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages - Information Technology (HUFLIT), Ms. Ha joined IDICO Urban and Industrial Zone Development Company Limited (Nhon Trach Ward). After some time, she moved to work at various other businesses to test her abilities and gain more experience. Starting in 2007, she entered the banking sector. To date, Ms. Ha has been involved in this field for nearly 20 years, with a journey of continuous striving. Ms. Ha has held many different positions, from administrative staff to head of administration, then Director of EximBank Bien Hoa, and now Director of VietABank Bien Hoa. Each job position has its own unique characteristics, especially the position of bank director, which always faces significant and continuous pressure, and also involves leading a team and maintaining a positive work spirit among employees…

Despite the work pressure, her health, perseverance, and positive energy, gained from years of consistent exercise, helped her overcome difficulties and successfully fulfill her role as a leader; she also continued to pursue further degrees and certifications to improve and upgrade herself.

Ms. Ha shared: “Besides spending time with my family, I always dedicate time to exercising and taking care of myself. My day usually starts at 4 am, and almost every morning I spend at least an hour exercising. When my children were young, I spent a lot of time with them, so I mainly focused on improving my own health. In recent years, as my children have grown older, I have started spreading the habit of exercising to those around me and in the community.”

Forming a habit of exercising in the community.

Ms. Ha said: To spread the habit of exercising in the community, since 2013, she has been participating in sports training at the city's Sports Training and Competition Center. At that time, the center established the "30 Minutes of Health Every Day" Club with the goal of spreading the habit of exercising among the people of Bien Hoa city (before the merger). From this model, the sports training movement gradually spread strongly, attracting a large number of people to participate. She is not only an active member but also takes on the role of coach of the club.

Giving gifts is how Ms. Pham Thi Ngoc Ha motivates and encourages students to practice diligently.

To make the training more engaging and effective, she chose movement-based activities set to music, such as folk dance, ballroom dancing, and aerobics. These were easily accessible, suitable for many age groups, and had a high potential for community outreach. With her natural talent and enthusiastic spirit, she participated in developing the movement throughout Dong Nai province at that time. Every weekend, she traveled to various localities to guide training for units, especially the Youth Union and the Women's Union, at local cultural and sports centers. As a result, the model of community folk dance and sports clubs gradually expanded and developed strongly, attracting a large number of people, especially women, to participate.

To date, community sports activities in Dong Nai have spread widely and sustainably. She continues to maintain her training and aims to expand the target audience, especially elementary school students. According to her, this age group has abundant energy and is in a crucial developmental stage. Cultivating a habit of exercise from an early age will help them develop a sense of health, achieve holistic development, and lay the foundation for their future. Every morning, she goes to schools to guide students in their exercise routines for about 30 minutes.

In October 2023, the Dong Nai Provincial (now Dong Nai City) Gymnastics Federation was established, with her serving as its president. Besides coordinating with agencies and localities to organize many large-scale community sports activities, the federation also focuses on training coaches, organizing professional training courses, issuing certificates, and improving the quality of teaching. Simultaneously, it participates in serving local cultural and social events through performances and sports demonstrations.

Engaging in sports and physical activity is not only a way to improve health but also brings joy and positive energy to the community. Therefore, in the future, I will continue to contribute to spreading the sports and physical activity movement strongly within the community, helping to improve the quality of life for the city's residents.

In particular, Ms. Ha has gathered a team of like-minded and dedicated individuals to spread a healthy lifestyle in the community, including Ms. Luu Thi Luyen (from Tam Hiep ward). Ms. Luyen used to be an accountant but six years ago switched careers to open a fitness and beauty studio. More than a year ago, she learned about Ms. Ha through participating in sports performance programs. "Admiring Ms. Ha's enthusiasm, dedication, and energy, I volunteered to spread the sports movement in schools through schoolyard dance and singing programs. Seeing the students enthusiastically participate, I feel happy that I have done something useful for them," Ms. Luyen shared.

When each individual recognizes the importance of maintaining good health and actively participates in exercise, it will contribute to creating a healthy, civilized, and sustainably developing community.
