According to Trinh Ngoc Tram, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Cua Nam Ward, books have long been considered a treasure trove of human knowledge, accompanying each individual on their journey of development. Reading not only helps to broaden understanding but also contributes to nurturing the soul, shaping character, and fostering aspirations for self-improvement.
Vietnam's Book and Reading Culture Day is held annually to affirm the role of books in social life and to promote the reading movement, especially among young people.

As part of the activities in response to the event, on the morning of April 11th, the People's Committee of Cua Nam Ward inaugurated a painting competition with the theme "Read to Understand - Draw to Love". This is one of the highlights of this year's program, aiming to combine reading culture and artistic creativity.

According to Nguyen Thanh Thuy, Director of the Culture, Information and Sports Center of Cua Nam Ward, the competition attracted 133 students. The students created artworks revolving around the themes of reading, their favorite books, or the significance of reading in life. Each artwork was accompanied by a short message (100-200 words) expressing their personal thoughts and feelings.
The entries will be judged on April 11th. From April 12th to 15th, the entries will be posted on the organizer's fanpage for community voting.
Through this activity, the organizers hope to contribute to spreading a love of books, creating a creative playground for students, thereby fostering a reading habit and encouraging them to actively and positively access knowledge.
