Bringing traditional art closer to the public.
In the summer of 2024, VinWonders Nam Hoi An once again placed its trust in inviting the Traditional Art Troupe of Bac Tra My District to participate in the summer festival tour to entertain tourists.
Ms. Doan Thi Xuan Hanh, Head of the Quang Nam Dance Association, is the director of programs for the Bac Tra My Traditional Art Troupe.
According to Ms. Hanh, VinWonders Nam Hoi An operates within a large service industry. Ordering performances from this company always requires high-quality, vibrant artistic performances to attract tourists.
The demanding and highly professional requirements are certainly challenging, but they also motivate local leaders and cultural and artistic staff in Bac Tra My to strive for continuous improvement. The core objective is to preserve and safeguard the cultural identity of the indigenous ethnic groups.
“Participating in the 2024 summer tour at VinWonders Nam Hoi An, the Bac Tra My Traditional Art Troupe developed a script and program structure based on the cultural identity of the Co people, flexibly preserving the original identity while creating interaction with tourists. Throughout the troupe's tour, there were always a large number of tourists who came to enjoy and interact, singing, dancing, and playing drums and gongs,” Ms. Xuan Hanh shared.
According to Mr. Duong Linh, a young Co extra in Tra Kot commune, touring VinWonders Nam Hoi An is an interesting and practical experience promoting the cultural identity of the Co ethnic group to tourists.
"The enthusiasm and enjoyment of tourists for the dances, folk songs, musical instruments, and costumes from the troupe's performance makes me feel very proud and motivates me to preserve, protect, and promote our national cultural identity," said Duong Linh.
According to a manager at VinWonders Nam Hoi An, the company rarely maintains repeated collaborations with any particular group or locality in carrying out annual summer cultural and artistic events. This is because practical needs demand novelty and a lack of repetition in order to provide tourists with higher quality services.
The Bac Tra My Traditional Arts Troupe is an exception; the summer of 2024 marked the third time VinWonders Nam Hoi An collaborated with them for a performance. All of the Bac Tra My troupe's tours have created a unique and memorable impression on visitors.

In mid-July 2024, during the Quang Nam Hometown Festival in Ho Chi Minh City, the Ca Dong gong performance (Bac Tra My) and the Bai Choi folk singing (Hoi An City) were two cultural and artistic activities selected by the Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee for performance and promotion.
Mr. Mai Phuc, Chairman of the Quang Nam Hometown Association in Ho Chi Minh City, said: “The opening ceremony of the gong festival by the Ca Dong village elders, the performance of drumming and gong playing according to the original tradition, the theatrical staging, and the community singing and dancing performances by the Bac Tra My delegation were all very elaborately staged. This not only promoted the unique cultural identity of the Ca Dong people and the cinnamon trees of Tra My, but also attracted audiences and tourists.”
Subsequently, at the end of August 2024, the Bac Tra My Traditional Art Troupe was honored to be invited to participate in an exchange program commemorating the 65th anniversary of the Tra Bong Uprising and the Western Quang Ngai region (August 28, 1959 - August 28, 2024).
According to Ms. Phan Thi Xuan Lap, Director of the Communication - Culture - Sports Center of Tra Bong district, the locality invited 7 art troupes from Que Phong, Quy Hop, and Quy Chau districts (Nghe An); Son Tay and Son Ha districts (Quang Ngai); Bac Tra My district (Quang Nam); and the host unit, Tra Bong.
"The performance by the Bac Tra My troupe was harmonious, promoting the costumes and gongs of the Co and Ca Dong people, contributing to the success of the commemorative activities," Ms. Lap noted.
Closing the year 2024, from December 13 to 16, Bac Tra My Traditional Art Troupe continued to be selected by Quang Nam to represent the province's ethnic minorities to participate in the Vietnam Ethnic Culture Festival, organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, hosted in Quang Tri province.
The Bac Tra My delegation competed by recreating the rain-praying ritual, showcasing local cuisine, traditional costumes, and an art program themed "Life Cycle" according to the cultural identity of the Co people.
The Bac Tra My delegation continued to make an impression when all participating events won high prizes with 3 A prizes, 3 B prizes and 3 C prizes. With this result, the Quang Nam delegation achieved the highest achievement among 16 provinces and cities across the country participating in the festival.
