The unique features of the Khai Son festival.

DNO - On the morning of February 24th (the 8th day of the Lunar New Year), the people of Nghi Son village (Nghi Son hamlet, Que Son Trung commune) held the Khai Son festival, praying for a year of favorable weather, peace, and prosperity.

From early morning, the elders, dignitaries, and villagers, dressed in their finest attire, gathered at the Cay Bang village communal house to perform the ritual of welcoming the village's tutelary deity and other revered gods from the Cam Mieu forest to the communal house. Amidst the resounding drums and gongs, and the swirling incense smoke, the Ritual Committee and representatives of the clans presided over the Khai Son ceremony according to village tradition.

The Khai Son Festival is a folk cultural and religious activity preserved by the people of Nghi Son village for many generations. Through traditional rituals, the community expresses gratitude to their ancestors who founded the village, while also conveying their hopes for a prosperous new year.

Besides the ceremonial part, the festival part was lively with activities such as lion dances, singing "Fortune, Prosperity, and Longevity," village chess competitions, and many folk games, contributing to strengthening community bonds, preserving cultural identity, and creating a vibrant atmosphere for the start of the new year.
