"Love your parents while you still can! Be with them while their eyes can still see your face, express your love while their ears can still hear, and repay their kindness while they can still receive it. Look closely at the wrinkles and gray hairs of your parents. Because one day, all that may remain is in their memories."

That was a message for the children at the art performance "Gratitude for Parental Love".

July is remembered as the month of Vu Lan, a time to commemorate the gratitude owed to parents and ancestors, reminding children of their duty to perform acts of filial piety to express their love and gratitude. The art performance featured songs about family love, about fathers and mothers, and about the gratitude for their upbringing, evoking many poignant emotions such as "Mother's Dream," "Father Is Getting Old," "Where Father Is," "Where Has Time Gone," "Mother's Heart," "My Beloved Mother," etc.

There, you'll find Quang Dung with his meaningful songs like "The Rose Pinned to the Shirt" and "Mother's Folk Song." Quang Dung's voice remains passionate, warm, and deeply emotional.

On stage, the image of the mother takes on a central theme, supporting Quang Dung's singing and further enhancing the humane messages conveyed in the songs.

Tung Duong moved the audience with his song "My Mother".

At the art night, Tùng Dương, no longer the eccentric and "possessed" singer he once was, presented a refined and gentle image. The moment he stepped onto the stage, applause erupted. He did not disappoint the audience, moving them deeply with his performances of the songs "My Mother" and "Father and Son."

"My Mother" is a song composed by musician Tran Tien, closely associated with the name of Tung Duong. The concise and meaningful lyrics, combined with the powerful and emotional vocals of the male singer, bring a poignant feeling to the audience.

Tung Duong confided that, from the beginning, he and his mother have both been strong-willed and independent, leading to frequent disagreements and conflicts on many issues. However, his mother has always quietly supported and taken care of him during his performances.

"My mother always told me, 'Always be humble and amiable, always bring virtue and humanity into your art and your real life. That's what's most important, not superficial success,'" the singer revealed.

Meanwhile, Hien Thuc continued her success in moving the audience to tears with her performance of "Mother's Diary." Appearing at the art show, she wore a simple yet elegant white ao dai (traditional Vietnamese dress).

As Hien Thuc sang, each scene recreated the meaning of the song, allowing the audience to immerse themselves in the story of a mother whose diary entries record her lifelong journey of raising, caring for, and loving her child. It's a journey of witnessing her child's growth, a source of immense happiness for a mother.

According to MC Nguyen Khang, in just a few days, Hien Thuc's daughter will be going to the US to study. Because she wanted to be close to her son, she interrupted her artistic activities for a long time to be with him and accompany him on his journey to adulthood.

Perhaps that's why Hien Thuc cried on stage. This wasn't the first time she performed the song "Mother's Diary," but each time she sang it, the singer couldn't help but be moved. As a mother herself, she understands the thoughts and feelings of a mother, so every word and phrase in the song felt like a heartfelt confession from Hien Thuc.

The art performance "Gratitude to Parents" tells a story about one's parents. Simple, unpretentious, and without pretense, it touches the hearts of the audience. One of its successes is that it moved many young and old alike to tears.

Many audience members were deeply moved by the messages conveyed during the art performance.

In particular, the voice of Meritorious Artist Lê Chức, sometimes soaring, sometimes majestic, and sometimes deeply emotional, further evokes a flood of feelings:

“An old mother is like a fragrant banana, like sticky rice, like sugarcane syrup… Those who receive white flowers will feel sorrow and remember their mother fondly, even though she is gone. Those who receive red flowers will feel joy, remembering that they still have a mother, and will strive to please her, lest one day she passes away and their tears will be too late.”
