Attending the incense offering ceremony were Mr. Le Dinh Long - Secretary of the Hai Duong City Party Committee, Mr. Nguyen Van Kien - Chairman of the Hai Duong City People's Committee, leaders of various departments and organizations, a large number of citizens and students.
During his lifetime, President Ho Chi Minh held a special affection for the officials and people of Hai Duong province. The province had the honor of welcoming him five times, in 1946, 1957, 1959, 1962, and 1965.
On May 31, 1957, while traveling from Hai Phong to Hanoi , President Ho Chi Minh visited Hai Duong province for the second time. He visited Ai Quoc commune (Nam Sach district, now Ai Quoc ward, Hai Duong city) to see several families, including the family of Mr. Vu Van Trung in Vu Thuong hamlet, whose three sons were serving in the army.
At the Provincial Party Committee Hall (later the Nguyen Ai Quoc School, now the Hai Duong Provincial Museum), Uncle Ho addressed over 400 delegates, including regional and provincial officials, soldiers, and people from all walks of life. He instructed the officials, soldiers, and people to strengthen their fighting spirit with a spirit of shared hardship, always maintaining close unity, and striving to successfully complete the rectification work in land reform and economic recovery to consolidate the North, laying a solid foundation for the struggle to unify the country.
During his visits to Hai Duong, President Ho Chi Minh spoke with, presented badges and gifts to, and encouraged cadres, soldiers, and the people. He praised the achievements of the people and cadres of Hai Duong, especially in agricultural production and the cooperative labor exchange movement.
Having had the honor of welcoming President Ho Chi Minh five times, the province of Hai Duong has been deeply imprinted in the minds and hearts of its officials, Party members, and people, further strengthening their trust and enthusiasm. President Ho Chi Minh's kind and simple teachings have served as a major guiding principle for the Party Committee, government, and people of Hai Duong throughout its development from a purely agricultural province.
Welcoming President Ho Chi Minh on his visit was an invaluable spiritual gift that helped encourage cadres, Party members, and the people of Hai Duong province to strive forward and successfully fulfill their political tasks during the period of accelerated industrialization and modernization of the country.
Bearing in mind President Ho Chi Minh's teachings, for many years, the Party Committee, government, and people of Hai Duong province in general and Hai Duong city in particular have continuously and creatively applied his teachings and advice, promoting patriotic emulation movements and successfully fulfilling all revolutionary tasks in different stages.
