This year's spring rice crop saw the entire province planting 9,835 hectares, reaching 100.4% of the plan. This includes 478 hectares in Lao Cai City, over 1,000 hectares in Bat Xat, over 1,576 hectares in Bao Thang, 3,360 hectares in Van Ban, 2,600 hectares in Bao Yen, 424 hectares in Muong Khuong, and 393 hectares in Bac Ha.

To date, farmers in the localities have harvested 3,103 hectares, reaching 31.5% of the planted area, equivalent to the same period of the spring crop in 2023. Specifically, Bao Thang harvested 1,088 hectares, Bao Yen harvested 832 hectares, Van Ban harvested 723 hectares, and Bat Xat harvested 460 hectares.

Along with focusing on harvesting the spring rice crop, localities are also urging people to immediately prepare the land and get sufficient fertilizers and supplies ready for the summer crop, especially in areas with a tradition of growing a third crop (planting winter crops on rice land).
