Originally a drama director, Vu Tran breathed into Cai Luong a fast, concise rhythm and tempo, even dramatic in some performances, and added beautiful dances, symbolic and metaphorical images, giving Cai Luong a new look.

For example, in the scene where Bao Tuy Anh and Chung Vo Diem play chess, Vu Tran had the supporting actors dress up as black and white chess pieces, representing both good and evil, and performing a fight scene symbolizing the conflict between two women. And these ghostly chess pieces chased Chung Vo Diem, creating a very good impression. The flying scenes also attracted the audience, serving the content of the story in which the characters all had magic. Adding the scene where Bao Tuy Anh was locked in her master's iron cage, she climbed and used magic to escape, also made a strong impression.

Le Nguyen Truong Giang rewrote the story of Chung Vo Diem very vividly, full of details. The character Bao Tuy Anh was fictionalized with a love story with Marshal Ngu Tan, making the rivalry with Chung Vo Diem more colorful; in addition to national affairs, there were also painful personal feelings, and pushed the character's psychology to be more complete.

Every character of Le Nguyen Truong Giang is carefully crafted psychologically, so along with the basic performance of the classical opera genre, the audience is moved when watching their sadness, happiness, joy and suffering, very close to life. Artist Le Thanh Thao (as Bao Tuy Anh) and Meritorious Artist Tu Suong (as Chung Vo Diem) are two sisters and also descendants of Minh To, and performed very well.
