Learner Tien reached the final of the ATP 250 Geneva Open at the age of 20, becoming the youngest player to reach the final of the tournament since Sergi Bruguera in 1990.
Opponent Mariano Navone got off to a better start, winning the first set 6-3. However, Learner Tien regained his composure in his first serve and capitalized on break opportunities to win the remaining two sets 6-3 and 7-5.
This is Learner Tien's second ATP Tour title after winning the Moselle Open last November. The American player is now aiming to advance past the first round of Roland Garros in his third appearance at the tournament.
