After more than 20 years with Liverpool, Trent Alexander-Arnold officially closed the first chapter of his career to embark on a new journey at Real Madrid. The 26-year-old defender signed a six-year contract with the Spanish giants and will feature in this summer's Club World Cup, after "Los Blancos" agreed to pay £10 million to secure his services earlier than expected.
However, the highlight off the pitch comes from... his private car. According to El Motor , Alexander-Arnold will not be allowed to bring his £130,000 Range Rover, which he usually uses in England, with him.
The reason? Real Madrid has an exclusive sponsorship deal with BMW, which requires players to use BMW cars when traveling to training centers.
This has been a long-standing rule in Madrid. BMW provides the entire team with high-end electric and hybrid models, such as the BMW XM – a model favored by both Kylian Mbappe and Jude Bellingham – which has a market value of around £152,000, but the players receive them completely free of charge.
Alexander-Arnold's 530-horsepower Range Rover V8 Twin Turbo once reached 100km/h in just 2.6 seconds, but it will never have the chance to hit the streets of Madrid – at least not while he's still playing for Real.
Furthermore, Real Madrid has also established a "steel barrier" to protect its new signing.
