Regarding the payment of pensions and social insurance benefits to beneficiaries in Hanoi in April 2026, Ms. Duong Thi Minh Chau, Head of the Propaganda and Support Department for Social Insurance Participants in Hanoi, stated: According to the scheduled payment of pensions and benefits in Hanoi, the Hanoi Social Insurance agency will disburse payments to beneficiaries via personal accounts on April 2nd (Thursday), and cash payments will be made in coordination with the Post Office after April 2nd.
Previously, during the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026, Hanoi Social Insurance paid out pensions and social insurance benefits for February and March in a combined manner. Specifically, February pensions were paid to 607,462 people, totaling over 4.204 billion VND. March pensions (first installment) were paid to 607,443 cases, totaling 4.158 billion VND.
A highlight of this consolidated payment round is that 99.55% of people received money via their personal accounts (ATMs), demonstrating a strong digital transformation that allows people to receive money quickly without waiting.
Hanoi Social Insurance has also issued some notes regarding the authorization to receive pension benefits according to the 2024 Social Insurance Law.
Accordingly, in order for the monthly payment of pensions and social insurance benefits to continue smoothly, ensuring the rights of beneficiaries under the two-tiered local government system and in accordance with the provisions of the Social Insurance Law No. 41/2024/QH15 (Social Insurance Law 2024) effective from July 1, 2025, beneficiaries should note some changes regarding the authorization to receive pensions and social insurance benefits as follows:
Regarding the authorization to receive pensions and social insurance benefits: For cases of authorizing someone to receive pensions, social insurance benefits, and other benefits, the authorization document is valid for a maximum of 12 months from the date of authorization.
The power of attorney document must be notarized in accordance with the law on notarization. "For power of attorney documents already prepared in accordance with Law No. 58/2014/QH13 (Social Insurance Law of 2014), this will be valid until June 30, 2026."
After July 1, 2026, beneficiaries must re-establish authorization or complete the necessary authentication procedures in a timely manner to avoid interruption in receiving their monthly pension and social insurance benefits.
Annually, beneficiaries of social insurance benefits through personal bank accounts are responsible for cooperating with the social insurance agency or a service organization authorized by the social insurance agency to verify their eligibility for social insurance benefits as prescribed.
