Lingard is in debt. |
According to published legal documents, JL Commercial Limited, the entity established by Lingard to manage his personal brand's commercial activities and trademark rights, has been ordered liquidated by the court. The reason is that the company has been unable to pay its outstanding debts for a long period of time.
The legal battle against JL Commercial Limited was initiated in August 2025 and subsequently brought before the UK Supreme Court. The request for the company's dissolution was filed by the law firm Pinsent Masons, one of the company's creditors.
Lingard founded JL Commercial Limited in 2018, while he was still playing for Manchester United. The company is responsible for managing commercial deals and developing the English midfielder's personal brand. Most notably, this includes his fashion brand JLingz and the image rights to Lingard's signature goal celebration on the pitch.

Lingard's business ventures failed. |
Through his company, Lingard had previously registered numerous trademarks related to clothing, shoes, hats, and even his goal celebration logo. However, the latest financial reports show that the business is in serious debt.
The total debt amounts to over £1.56 million, including a bank loan of approximately £22,500 and over £36,000 in unpaid taxes to the UK's Housing Revenue Center (HMRC).
In January, British media also revealed that Lingard had decided to close his JLingz fashion brand after the company accumulated nearly £300,000 in debt. The business was subsequently placed on a voluntary liquidation list.
Recently, Lingard found a new club, signing with Brazilian club Corinthians. He earns around £86,000 per month, a modest figure compared to the earnings of many long-serving Premier League players.
