In Vietnam, 7-seater multi-purpose vehicles, especially the compact MPV segment, are among the most popular vehicle types among consumers.
The main advantage of this vehicle line is its three rows of seats and spacious interior, making it suitable for both business and family use. This is also a segment where manufacturers frequently offer promotions to increase customer appeal.
As the peak summer travel season approaches, many car manufacturers and dealerships are simultaneously launching major promotional programs to stimulate customer demand, making the 7-seater car market more vibrant in May.
In the small MPV segment using gasoline engines, the Mitsubishi Xpander is the most prominent name, consistently leading in sales and creating a significant gap with its competitors. One of the advantages of this Japanese model is that it is often offered at more accessible prices.

This month, Xpander buyers will receive fuel vouchers worth between 67 and 80 million VND, depending on the version. The highest discounts apply to the AT Premium (659 million VND) and Xpander Cross (699 million VND) versions.
Meanwhile, Toyota is offering 100% registration fee support and gifts for the Veloz Cross (638-660 million VND) and Avanza Premio (558-598 million VND). The value of the discount for the Avanza Premio ranges from approximately 65-70 million VND, while for the Veloz Cross it is around 73-75 million VND.
Besides the three models mentioned above, another Japanese MPV, the Honda BR-V (629-705 million VND), also received a 50% reduction in registration fees in May, equivalent to a discount of approximately 31.5-35.3 million VND.
Meanwhile, the Suzuki XL7 Hybrid (from 599 million VND) is eligible for a maximum exchange rate of up to 55 million VND for 2025 models, including a 50% reduction in registration fees and a maintenance package. 2026 models receive approximately 35 million VND in support.
Notably, the Hyundai Stargazer (489-617 million VND), which recently launched an upgraded version in Vietnam, has quickly become the subject of promotional programs. Throughout May, the Korean MPV model received discounts of up to 107 million VND.

Also in the Korean car segment, according to Kia Vietnam's website, the compact MPV Carens (priced at 579-639 million VND) has discounts ranging from 10-20 million VND. Meanwhile, the larger MPV Kia Carnival is offered with discounts from 20-70 million VND. The highest discount applies to the Carnival 2.2D Signature 7S version (priced at 1.569 billion VND).
In the electric vehicle segment, VinFast 's MPV duo, the Limo Green and VF MPV 7, are currently being offered with discounts of up to 9% off the vehicle price. The on-the-road price of the Limo Green after the discount is now below 700 million VND. This is also the best-selling model in the market since the beginning of the year, with 18,951 units sold.

The Chinese electric MPV BYD M6 is also following the summer price reduction trend. Accordingly, the M6 Standard version is being offered with a discount of 40 million VND for vehicles with VIN 2025 and 20 million VND for vehicles with VIN 2026.
Besides MPVs, automakers are also offering discounts on some 7-seater SUV models. Among them, the Mitsubishi Destinator continues to receive a 35 million VND discount for both versions, bringing the price down to 745-820 million VND.
Meanwhile, Mazda CX-8 models (starting from 899 million VND) are offered with discounts ranging from 10-60 million VND in May. In the same segment as the CX-8, the Hyundai Santa Fe receives even larger discounts, totaling approximately 220 million VND, depending on the specific model and year of manufacture.
It is estimated that the starting price of this Korean SUV after the discount could be reduced to below 1 billion VND. The price reduction of hundreds of millions of VND for the Santa Fe not only increases its competitiveness in the segment but also puts pressure on some lower-segment vehicles.
