The Provincial Veterans Association provided 80 million VND to veteran Nguyen Dinh Tam, from Dai Dong Thanh commune, Thuan Thanh town, to build a new house.
The Provincial Veterans Association Party Branch has two party groups with 10 party members, holding meetings on the 3rd of each month. The Party Committee meets beforehand to agree on and anticipate important topics for discussion, and to solicit contributions from party members. Each month, the branch selects and focuses on resolving practical issues related to the assigned cadres and party members responsible for specific areas and fields. In addition to regular meetings, the branch organizes 2 to 3 thematic meetings annually on topics such as: implementing veteran-led traffic safety and maintaining security and order; building the "Comradeship Fund"; coordinating support for members to access loans for economic development; recruiting new members; and resolving issues related to benefits and policies for members.
The greatest success of the Provincial Veterans Association Party Branch during the 2020-2025 term was fostering a spirit of unity, democracy, innovation, creativity, and close ties among its members. For each policy and resolution issued, the Party Branch assigned cadres and Party members to monitor public opinion and the aspirations of its members, thereby adjusting accordingly to the practical situation. This served as a crucial foundation for the Party Branch to effectively fulfill its role and responsibilities in leading and guiding cadres, Party members, and association members in responding to campaigns and emulation movements.
The innovation and improvement of Party branch activities in the Provincial Veterans Association always closely follows the grassroots level, linked to the implementation of Directive 05 on "Promoting the study and emulation of Ho Chi Minh's thought, morality, and style," creating a widespread impact among cadres, Party members, and association members through concrete and practical actions. Many good models and creative approaches have been maintained and developed, such as: supporting the construction of "Comradeship Houses"; visiting and giving gifts to meritorious people and members in difficult circumstances; giving gifts to students who overcome difficulties and excel in their studies; supporting people affected by storms and floods; supporting the COVID-19 prevention and control fund... Over the past 5 years, the Provincial Veterans Association has mobilized more than 15 billion VND to support social charity activities.
Deeply aware that eliminating temporary and dilapidated housing improves the quality of life for its members, the Provincial Veterans Association annually promotes and mobilizes cadres and members to contribute to the "Comradeship Fund"; it directs affiliated associations to review, assess, and select member families facing housing difficulties, ensuring fairness and targeting the right beneficiaries, and including them in the plan for new construction and timely repairs. From 2020 to the present, the Provincial Veterans Association has supported over 1 billion VND in building and repairing 21 "Comradeship Houses".
Veteran Nguyen Dinh Tam, born in 1955 in Dong Van village, Dai Dong Thanh commune, Thuan Thanh town, participated in the resistance war against the US to save the country. Returning to civilian life, he faithfully followed the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws; actively participating in local campaigns and emulation movements. However, he and his wife frequently suffered from illness and lived in a dilapidated house. Sharing in their difficulties, the Provincial Veterans Association provided him with 80 million VND, and the Thuan Thanh Town Veterans Association provided 10 million VND to build a new house of over 100 square meters. Veteran Nguyen Dinh Tam was moved, saying, “Thanks to the care and support from the Veterans Associations at all levels, and the constant encouragement, visits, and help from my comrades in building this new house, I feel secure and no longer worry when it rains heavily or the wind is strong.”
Improving the quality of Party activities is a crucial driving force for the Provincial Veterans Association Party Branch to effectively fulfill its role as a Party organization, fostering consensus among cadres and members, and achieving positive results in building a clean and strong Party and Association organization. Annually, the branch achieves the title of "successfully completed tasks" or higher; 100% of Party members successfully complete their tasks, with 20% achieving outstanding performance.
