Sparkling night of flower lanterns in Hoi An

The lantern festival has been held in Hoi An for decades on full moon nights every month. In addition, this activity is also held on some other special occasions during the year and is enthusiastically experienced by many tourists.

During this year's Lantern Festival, from the night of January 14, thousands of tourists flocked to Hoi An ancient town to attend the festival and many of them chose a flower lantern to release their wishes into the Hoai River.

In the rankings of top international destinations that Hoi An has been honored with recently, the experience of releasing flower lanterns on the Hoai River has become an indispensable suggestion for all tourists when coming to this world cultural heritage.

Most recently, Time Uot Magazine (UK) ranked Hoi An in the top 20 most romantic cities in the world and is an ideal destination for couples on Valentine's Day.

According to Time Uot, boating on the Hoai River, releasing flower lanterns, listening to folk songs... will certainly be special and memorable experiences for couples in love.

When night falls, along with the lanterns, the flickering light from hundreds of floating lanterns makes the Hoai River shimmer and magical.

There are many ways for tourists to experience releasing lanterns on the Hoai River. The most popular type chosen by tourists is to experience going on a boat and releasing lanterns. Others can choose to release lanterns by standing on a bridge attached to a small pole and slowly releasing them into the water or can release the lanterns themselves from the riverbank.

Releasing flower lanterns is a beautiful feature in the spiritual culture of Hoi An people in particular and Vietnamese people in general. Many tourists before releasing lanterns into Hoai River often take souvenir photos and pray for good luck.
