On the afternoon of June 25th, Mai Phuong Thuy posted a screenshot of a netizen's comment regarding her title as Miss Vietnam. The comment stated, "Without the title of Miss Vietnam, I don't know if my life would be as successful and wealthy as it is now. Fame creates opportunities; otherwise, you'd be just like everyone else. Achieving success is difficult or impossible."

The beauty queen stated: "Without a title, you start from scratch. If you fail the entrance exam, you retake it. If you fail 9 times, you retake it 10 times. As long as you persevere, I don't believe that working like a normal person is that difficult. I also got into the Foreign Trade University, and I've gone through the hardships of studying, so I'm not afraid of difficulties. The skills needed to be a beauty queen and work in finance are completely different. I intended to give it all up to work in a bank in 2008, when I was 20 years old. But at that time, too many community projects wanted me to participate. By 2010-2012, the beauty queens weren't fully mature yet because they had just been crowned, so it took me a long time to withdraw. The environment of being a beauty queen doesn't offer many opportunities to fully develop your skills."
