Recently, the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province held a meeting with the Vietnam Railways Corporation regarding the implementation of the Hue - Da Nang tourist train service. The relevant units and localities agreed on several plans and solutions to ensure the tourist train service is put into operation around March 26th.

The launch of the Hue-Da Nang tourist train will offer visitors an exciting experience of the mountainous and coastal scenery.

The Thua Thien Hue - Da Nang railway line passes north of Hai Van Pass, with majestic mountains on one side and the clear blue sea on the other. As you travel through the pass, you'll be able to admire the natural beauty bestowed upon this land.

Many who have traveled this railway line believe that the section through Lang Co - Hai Van Pass is the most beautiful railway in Vietnam. The route is bordered by towering mountains on one side and the deep sea on the other, creating a unique landscape.

The Hue - Da Nang railway line comprises 12 stations with a length of 102km; of which 3 stations are located in mountainous areas, far from residential areas, and 9 stations are capable of receiving passengers: Hue, Huong Thuy, Truoi, Cau Hai, Thua Luu, Lang Co, Kim Lien, Thanh Khe, and Da Nang.

The train journey time between Hue and Da Nang is approximately 3.5 to 4 hours, compared to about 2 hours by road.

On the train journey between Thua Thien Hue and Da Nang and vice versa, passengers will pass through many famous landmarks, especially Hai Van Pass. The construction of this railway line is considered a miracle because of the extremely treacherous terrain of Hai Van Pass.

The railway line crossing the Hai Van Pass, connecting Thua Thien Hue and Da Nang, is roughly the same length as the road, passing through Kim Lien, Hai Van Nam (Da Nang), Hai Van (located in the middle of the pass), Hai Van Bac, and Lang Co (Thua Thien Hue) stations.

The railway through Hai Van Pass winds along the mountainside, with 6 tunnels and 18 bridges, the shortest tunnel being 85m and the longest 600m.

On the train journey from Thua Thien Hue to Da Nang, passengers can not only admire the sea but also enjoy the sight of lush green vegetation.

As you approach the northern end of Hai Van Pass, you'll be able to admire the entirety of Lang Co Bay – considered the most beautiful bay in the world. Lang Co Bay, stretching 42.5km, is located more than 60km from Hue city and 20km from Da Nang. It's a nearly pristine bay nestled at the foot of Hai Van Pass, boasting a flat beach, clear blue water, and a diverse ecosystem.

Looking out into the distance, one sees vast tropical forests on undulating mountain ranges, with the expansive Lap An Lagoon nestled between the mountains and the sea. This is one of the famous tourist destinations of Thua Thien Hue province, considered by King Khai Dinh as a heavenly paradise.

Upon arriving at Lang Co station, tourists can disembark to explore famous tourist areas such as Hoi Dua, Hoi Mit, Lap An lagoon, and Lang Co beach, as well as enjoy delicious fresh seafood caught and raised by local fishermen.

One of Lang Co's famous seafood dishes is fresh oysters. Oyster farming in Lap An Lagoon has been maintained by the people of Lang Co for decades. Currently, Lap An Lagoon is the largest oyster farming area in Lang Co Bay.

From Lang Co to Hue city, tourists will pass through many famous landmarks with the natural beauty of the majestic Bach Ma mountain range often covered in clouds, the turquoise Cau Hai lagoon, and the Truoi region known for its "sweet jackfruit and fragrant strawberries".

At the southern end of Hai Van Pass, the train will take tourists through Van Village, a small village located right at the foot of Hai Van Pass, in Hoa Hiep Bac Ward, Lien Chieu District, Da Nang, about 30km from the city center and approximately 1 hour's drive.
