Manchester United and Liverpool produced an emotional match in the FA Cup quarter-finals. Seven goals were scored, with Man Utd opening the scoring and also scoring the winning goal in the 120th minute. However, Ten Hag's side found themselves chasing the game at times and seemed on the verge of defeat.
With the home advantage, Man Utd proactively played an attacking game against Liverpool, who were ready to attack quickly when in possession, so the pace of the match was high early on. In the 10th minute, the home team scored the opening goal; Garnacho shot from a tight angle on the left, Kelleher pushed the ball away, and McTominay pounced to tap it in from close range.

Scoring an early goal boosted the confidence of the Manchester United players, especially in defense, which hampered Liverpool's performance for an extended period. However, Liverpool didn't show any impatience; Klopp's team played calmly and patiently, waiting for their opportunities.
The pressure from the visiting team increased towards the end of the first half, and the Man Utd defense gradually showed weaknesses. After a goal was disallowed in the 38th minute for offside, Liverpool equalized in the 42nd minute when Mac Allister's shot deflected off a Man Utd player's leg and into the net.
The conceded goal eroded the confidence of the Man Utd defense, and the home team played erratically after losing their lead, allowing Liverpool to quickly seize the opportunity and take the lead. In the 45th minute + 2, Salah scored with a rebound after Onana parried Nunez's shot.
In the second half, Man Utd tried to fight back but the home team struggled to find scoring opportunities. Liverpool continued to attack quite sharply, but Onana played well to repeatedly save the home team. As time ran out, manager Ten Hag decided to increase the attacking pressure by substituting a defender for an attacking player (Amad Diallo came on for Varane).
After much effort, Man Utd found the equalizer in the 87th minute when Antony skillfully turned and finished from the edge of the penalty area, sending the ball into the net. Man Utd could have easily sealed the victory after 90 minutes if Rashford had scored in the final minute of injury time; unfortunately, in a free position facing goalkeeper Kelleher, Rashford shot wide.

Antony did not disappoint coach Ten Hag's expectations.
With the score tied 2-2 after 90 minutes, the two teams went into extra time. Man Utd continued to play more impressively than the visitors, but luck was on Liverpool's side. In the 105th minute, Elliott's shot deflected off Eriksen's leg and into the net, making the score 3-2. Immediately after the goal, manager Ten Hag substituted Lindeloef for Mount, and the home team played the final period of the match with only two true defenders.
The home team's efforts were rewarded in the 112th minute. Following a misplaced pass in Liverpool's half, Man Utd regained possession and launched a quick attack. McTominay passed the ball to Rashford, who finished with a one-touch shot to equalize the score at 3-3.
Liverpool didn't want to go to penalties, so the visitors pushed forward in attack for the remainder of the match. In the 120th minute, following a failed Liverpool attack, Man Utd launched a quick counter-attack, with Garnacho assisting Amad to score and make it 4-3. After scoring, Amad took off his shirt to celebrate and received a yellow card, his second yellow card, and was sent off. Fortunately for Man Utd, there were only two minutes of added time in extra time, and they successfully defended their 4-3 lead.

Amad celebrated after scoring for Man Utd, and his action of taking off his shirt contributed to his sending off.
