(Dan Tri) - Thanks to a co-worker who installed biometrics on a banking application, a man in Thanh Hoa had 132 million VND stolen from his account.
On November 9, Thanh Hoa Provincial Police informed that the Investigation Police Department of Yen Dinh District Police had prosecuted and temporarily detained Do Cong Luong (born 2006), residing in Yen Tam Commune, Yen Dinh District, for the crime of Theft of property.
Previously, because he did not know how to install biometrics on the Sacombank Pay application, Mr. T.D.H. (born in 1973), in Yen Lac commune, Yen Dinh district, asked Do Cong Luong (working at the same company) to install it for him.

However, because Mr. H's phone did not support biometric installation, Luong downloaded the application to his phone and logged into Mr. H's bank account to install it.
After installing biometrics, Mr. H. logged into the banking account application on his phone but was unable to do so and his account was locked.
On the morning of November 5, Mr. H. came to the company and asked Luong to log in again. After logging in, Luong asked for the OTP code from Mr. H.'s phone to check.
At this time, seeing that Mr. H. had 240 million VND in his account, Luong became greedy and had the intention of appropriating the money in the account. On November 5 and 6, Luong transferred 132 million VND from Mr. H.'s Sacombank account to his own account.
As for Mr. H., because he could not log into his account, on the afternoon of November 6, he went to Sacombank Yen Dinh branch to check and discovered that the above amount of money was missing.
On the evening of November 6, Do Cong Luong went to the police station to surrender and clearly confessed his violations.
