According to Ms. Park Eun Jung, Chief Representative of the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) in Vietnam, over the past 33 years since Vietnam and Korea established diplomatic relations, in addition to strengthening cooperation in many fields such as politics , economics, culture and people-to-people exchange, tourism has played an important bridging role, helping to strengthen the friendship between the two countries.

In 2024, Vietnam will rise to second place in Southeast Asia in terms of the number of tourists to Korea (after the Philippines).

Last year, for the first time, the number of tourist exchanges between the two countries exceeded 5 million people, marking an important milestone in bilateral relations, bringing Vietnam to the second position in Southeast Asia in terms of the number of tourists to Korea (after the Philippines). This year, by the end of May, Korea welcomed 224,000 tourists from Vietnam, an increase of 11% over the same period in 2024. This is a positive sign of Korean tourism in the Vietnamese market in the context of the volatile economic and geopolitical situation in the world.

To further promote the relationship between the two countries, in 2025, KTO is also making efforts to promote the appeal of Korea to the Vietnamese people with a variety of content. For example, with the “Be the Kreator” program, KTO is promoting the selection and connection with 20 young Vietnamese content creators living and studying in Korea, in order to spread the image of Korea through a new, creative and familiar perspective.

In particular, the "Korea Transit Tour" program for passengers transiting in Korea when traveling to the US, Canada, Japan, etc. allows visa exemption and foreign visitors can stay in Korea for 72 hours. In addition, Incheon Airport also provides many useful services for Vietnamese visitors who plan to travel to multiple countries, using Korea as a transit point.

“Through a series of diverse promotional activities, combining both direct and online forms, KTO is actively accompanying Vietnamese travel companies in developing specialized tourism products such as K-Culture tour, Premium tour, Sports tour, as well as supporting charter groups to Korea. We hope to bring Vietnamese tourists new, unique and authentic Korean experiences," Ms. Park Eun Jung added.
