Quang Tri Border Guards destroy 'huge' cross-border drug ring

(Chinhphu.vn) - The Border Guard force of Quang Tri province has just broken up a cross-border drug trafficking ring with an especially large quantity, seizing 500kg of drugs.

The subjects and evidence of the case

Implementing the plan to protect the safety of border areas and sea areas during the 1st Congress of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee, term 2025 - 2030, at 4:00 p.m. on October 5, at Dan Hoa commune (Quang Tri province), the Quang Tri Provincial Border Guard's Professional Department presided over and coordinated with the Cha Lo International Border Gate Border Guard Station to successfully fight and destroy the QT 925.3 project.

At the scene, the police arrested two Lao nationals and seized a total of 500kg of various drugs, mainly methamphetamine, along with some related evidence.

The entire process of fighting the project was closely deployed, ensuring absolute safety of forces and means.

Currently, the Quang Tri Provincial Border Guard Command is directing units to continue investigating and expanding the case. This is considered an outstanding achievement of the provincial Border Guard, contributing to completely preventing a "huge" amount of drugs from being smuggled across the border, not causing consequences for society.
