This is an opportunity for Vietnamese businesses to expand cooperation with Japanese businesses. At the same time, it's also an opportunity for Japanese businesses to find Vietnamese partners to proactively secure the supply of input materials for production.

Opportunities to expand trade

Japan currently ranks third among 45 countries and territories with the number of projects and investment capital in Dong Nai. The strong development of the foreign-invested business community in general, and Japanese businesses in particular, has made a significant contribution to economic growth, job creation, and the development of industries in general and supporting industries in particular in Dong Nai.

However, finding suitable partners has remained challenging in recent times. Therefore, establishing direct trade connections between Vietnamese and Japanese businesses is crucial, opening up opportunities for long-term cooperation and jointly addressing supply chain challenges. During the most recent trade exchange, numerous meetings were held and several contracts were signed, laying the groundwork for sustainable cooperation.

Speaking at the Vietnam-Japan Business Networking Conference, Ms. Kawasaki Minako, Deputy Chief Representative of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) office in Ho Chi Minh City, stated: Currently, Japanese businesses are paying great attention to the Vietnamese market. Vietnam is considered an important manufacturing location with stable growth prospects, possessing key factors such as a high-quality workforce, improved industrial infrastructure, and an increasingly完善 investment environment. Therefore, many Japanese businesses are eager to cooperate with Vietnamese businesses, especially in strategies to expand supply chain operations towards sustainability.

Also at the aforementioned conference, Mr. Onose Takahisa, Vice President and Head of the Tax and Customs Committee of the Japan Business Association in Ho Chi Minh City, shared his views on attracting foreign businesses to Vietnam, including those in the supporting industries sector. However, Mr. Onose Takahisa suggested that to attract foreign businesses, including those in the supporting industries sector, Vietnam needs more supportive mechanisms and policies to ensure businesses can confidently produce and operate.

Dong Nai commits to supporting businesses.

To date, Japan has invested in Dong Nai province with nearly 290 projects and a total registered capital of over 5.8 billion USD. Besides new investment projects, many long-standing Japanese businesses in Dong Nai continue to increase their capital and expand production and business in the province. Many of these businesses possess modern, environmentally friendly production technologies and are less labor-intensive.

According to Provincial Party Committee member and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hoang, through the conference, the difficulties and obstacles faced by Japanese businesses in their production and business activities in Dong Nai province were acknowledged by the provincial leadership, and the provincial departments and agencies were requested to provide thorough answers and create favorable conditions for businesses to develop. At the same time, Vietnamese and Japanese businesses also made connections and signed cooperation agreements to supply products to each other.

In the coming period, the Provincial People's Committee will continue to direct the Provincial Industrial Parks and Economic Zones Management Board, and provincial departments and agencies to implement solutions to create a favorable production and business environment. Difficulties faced by Japanese businesses, as well as domestic and foreign businesses in Dong Nai province, will also be resolved quickly.

Throughout their operations, Vietnamese businesses have always sought to expand cooperation opportunities with foreign businesses, especially Japanese businesses. According to surveys by the Japan Business Association and the Coordinating Committee, many Japanese businesses are eager to find Vietnamese partners to secure their supply chains. However, finding suitable partners remains challenging. Therefore, direct trade connections between Vietnamese and Japanese businesses are crucial, opening up opportunities for long-term cooperation and jointly addressing supply chain challenges. In the most recent trade exchange, numerous meetings were held and several contracts were signed, laying the groundwork for sustainable cooperation.
