Apple has officially confirmed the date and time for its September product launch event, titled "It's Glowtime." The annual iPhone launch event will take place on Monday, September 9, at the Apple Park campus in Cupertino, California, starting at 10 a.m. local time.
At the event, Apple is expected to launch the iPhone 16 series, Apple Watch and Air Pods 4. In addition, Apple will also announce the official release date of iOS 18, macOS Sequoia and other software.
iPhone 16 will have notable changes such as:
- Larger screens: The iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max are expected to have larger OLED screens measuring 6.3 inches and 6.9 inches, respectively. Additionally, sources say the Pro iPhones will have a maximum screen brightness of 1,200 nits for normal use and 1,600 nits for HDR. This makes them the brightest iPhone screens ever.
- Add buttons, change camera layout: iPhone 16 series will be equipped with an additional Action button and a new photo capture button on the right side.
Apple introduced the Action button last year but it was only available on the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max. This year, the company will integrate it across all four versions. This button replaces the traditional silent mode switch and can be converted into many functions such as turning on the flashlight, camera, launching pre-assigned shortcuts, and translation mode.
- Added some new colors: Sonny Dickson - an expert who has provided many accurate images of Apple products, posted photos of four models of the iPhone 16 Pro in white, black, gray and copper. Of which, the copper version is a special color, replacing the titanium blue on the iPhone 15 Pro.
Meanwhile, the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus come in five colors: white, black, blue, green, and pink, with darker tones than the previous generation.
- New camera technology: Apple is expected to upgrade the 48MP ultra-wide-angle lens on the iPhone 16 Pro for better image quality, especially in low light conditions. The main sensor on the 16 Pro Max is 12% larger than the previous generation. Both high-end versions have a 5x telephoto lens instead of being limited to the Pro Max like last year.
- Stacked battery: Apple uses a battery with a completely new design and material, with a stainless steel case instead of aluminum.
Apple also changed the 5G modem on the two high-end versions to Snapdragon X75 for faster connection and better battery life.
- Improved Apple Intelligence and Siri: All iPhone 16 will have Apple Intelligence, an AI toolkit powered by large language models. However, users will have to wait until October to experience this feature.
Apple also upgraded the microphone to improve Siri, integrate more natural conversational AI and the ability to interact with third-party apps.
Users in Vietnam can watch the event at 0:00 on September 10 via live stream on Apple's website; TV app on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV and via Apple's official Youtube channel.
