According to transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, coach Jose Mourinho has agreed to lead Fenerbahce. The two sides have reached a preliminary agreement on a 2-year contract.
The “Special One” will replace coach Ismail Kartal on the coaching bench of Fenerbahce. This will be the 10th team in Jose Mourinho’s coaching career after Benfica, Uniao de Leiria, Porto, Chelsea, Inter Milan, Real Madrid, MU, Tottenham and AS Roma.
After being sacked by AS Roma earlier this year, Jose Mourinho was rumored to be looking to move to Saudi Arabia or Qatar. However, the Portuguese coach is very close to Fenerbahce.
In the 2023/2024 season, Fenerbahce lost only 1 match and won 99 points but still had to finish second in the Turkish Super League, 3 points behind Galatasaray.
If he arrives at Fenerbahce, Jose Mourinho will have the opportunity to work with his former MU student, midfielder Fred, and his former AS Roma student, striker Edin Dzeko.
