MU puts an end to Rashford's plans. |
According to The Sun , interim manager Michael Carrick doesn't see Rashford as a suitable player for the current Manchester United team. That's why the former midfielder didn't call his old protégé back during the last winter transfer window.
The aforementioned source also stated that Coach Carrick is only focused on completing his task of leading the team until the end of the season with the existing players, while the management continues to search for a permanent head coach.
CEO Omar Berrada and Technical Director Jason Wilcox are still in the process of restructuring the squad. For them, Rashford is no longer considered a key player for MU. Selling the 28-year-old outright this summer is seen as a sensible option, both professionally and financially.

Rashford is currently playing for Barcelona on loan until the end of the season, with an option to buy for around £26 million. Given the current situation, the possibility of Rashford leaving Old Trafford next summer is becoming increasingly clear.
Joining Barcelona at the end of July 2025 after the Catalan club failed to sign Inaki Williams and Luis Diaz, Rashford has somewhat rediscovered his form. He has scored 10 goals in 34 appearances for the reigning La Liga champions, making a significant contribution to the depth of the attacking squad.
However, Rashford's future at Camp Nou still depends on the political situation at the club. If chairman Joan Laporta loses the upcoming election, candidate Victor Font could change the sporting structure, including removing Sporting Director Deco.
Remember, Deco was the man behind the deal that brought Rashford to Barcelona. This could directly influence the decision to permanently sign the English striker.
