BPO - Binh Phuoc, with its fertile red basalt soil and mild climate, has helped farmers create abundant fruit orchards. Everywhere in Binh Phuoc, you can see vast orchards of durian, mandarin oranges, mangosteen, rambutan, and green pomelo.
These days, we visited a rambutan orchard in Dong Tien commune, Dong Phu district. Although the family harvested almost a month ago, the trees are still laden with fruit, a beautiful sight.
According to Mr. Dang Minh Huan, the orchard owner, rambutan usually ripens in June and July each year. This is also the time when other fruits such as durian, avocado, and mangosteen are in season, so prices are very competitive. This year, the price of rambutan during the peak season only ranges from 13,000 to 15,000 VND, but the harvest is bountiful. With over 1.5 hectares of rambutan orchard, his family harvested around 18 tons. In terms of economic efficiency, the income remains stable.
This year, rambutan only ripened in late June and early July, so the price has gone up, making gardeners like Mr. Huan happier than in previous years.
Here are some beautiful images of the rambutan season in Binh Phuoc province:
