According to the People's Committee of Yen Chau district (Son La), the hailstorm with strong winds on the night of April 12 lasted for about 30 minutes, occurring in Phieng Khoai commune, causing many plum trees in preparation for harvest to fall fruit and break branches.
The heaviest damage was recorded in Hang Mon 1, Hang Mon 2 and Bo Rom villages, with about 80 hectares of area damaged. Fortunately, there were no casualties or damage to houses in this hailstorm.
Immediately after the disaster, the authorities of Yen Chau district worked with the people to review and count the damage. At the same time, they helped people overcome the initial damage, continued to guide preventive measures, and protected crops in areas that were not affected, minimizing possible damage.
