Born and raised in the Netherlands, Idzes played for the "Orange Tornado" youth national teams before deciding to become an Indonesian citizen. |
According to Tuttomercatoweb, Sassuolo has set a price of €40 million for Idzes for any club, including AC Milan. The Milanese club values Idzes' versatility, physicality, and tactical awareness, and sees him as a potential option for the 2025/26 mid-season transfer window.
Sassuolo only spent around 8 million euros to sign Idzes from Venezia for the summer of 2025. Currently, the market value of this central defender has quadrupled the initial investment.
Idzes's significant price increase stems from his consistent performance in Europe and his remarkable professional development. Playing in Serie A for Sassuolo, Idzes impressed with his ability to read the game, his solid tackling, and especially his versatility in the defensive system.
The Indonesian national team's center-back can play well in all three positions in a three-man defense, a factor that makes him a modern center-back sought after by many big clubs.
It was that form that brought Jay Idzes to the attention of AC Milan. The club repeatedly sent scouts to watch him in person during Sassuolo's matches.
CEO Giovanni Carnevali recently signaled the openness to negotiations, affirming that the club does not stand in the way of young players moving to bigger teams as part of its talent development policy.
