On May 25th, the People's Committee of Thong Nhat Ward ( Gia Lai Province) issued a report regarding the incident in which an 8th-grade male student at Nguyen Van Cu Secondary School was struck on the head with an axe by a classmate right in the classroom.
According to the Thong Nhat Ward People's Committee, at approximately 1 PM on May 21st, in the classroom of class 8/5 at Nguyen Van Cu Secondary School, while the teacher was preparing to begin the lesson, student Ngo Hoang N. (class 8/5) used an axe (which he brought with him and hid in his backpack) to strike student H.D.UL, who was sitting in front of him, on the head.

Following the incident, the school's administration promptly took H.D.UL to Hospital 331 for emergency treatment and simultaneously notified the local authorities, the ward police, and the parents of Ngo Hoang N. to ensure timely resolution.
At Military Hospital 211, H.D.UL was diagnosed with a brain hematoma, so his family requested a transfer to Cho Ray Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City for further monitoring and treatment.
Following the incident, the Thong Nhat Ward Police brought Ngo Hoang N. to the station for clarification; they also took statements from the homeroom teacher, subject teachers, and students of class 8/5 to strengthen the case file and handle it according to regulations.
Representatives from Nguyen Van Cu Secondary School informed that the Thong Nhat Ward Police are coordinating with the Gia Lai Provincial Police to investigate the cause of the incident. To date, L.'s health is gradually recovering.
