Enhancing gender mainstreaming capacity and promoting gender equality.

On the afternoon of January 9th, the Provincial Women's Union held a training session to enhance the capacity for gender mainstreaming and promoting gender equality for officials in the political system, village elders, community leaders, and influential people in the community.

Comrade Luong Thi Hanh, Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairperson of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, and Chairperson of the Provincial Women's Union, delivered the opening speech.

In her opening remarks at the training course, the Chairwoman of the Provincial Women's Union, Luong Thi Hanh, affirmed: "Gender equality is an important and consistent goal in the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's laws and regulations. It is also a fundamental element in ensuring sustainable development and social progress. For ethnic minority and mountainous regions, promoting gender equality is especially important, gradually eliminating gender stereotypes and outdated customs, contributing to enhancing the status of women, and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of women and children."

Given its importance, in recent times, women's associations at all levels in the province have implemented activities of Project 8 "Implementing gender equality and addressing urgent issues for women and children," organizing 80 training courses to enhance the capacity for gender mainstreaming for nearly 8,000 officials in the political system, village elders, community leaders, and influential people in the community.

Through this, officials, village elders, community leaders, and influential figures in the community have enhanced their knowledge and skills in disseminating information and mobilizing support, contributing to the spread of gender equality to a wider audience and the community.

During the training course, 100 delegates received instruction from lecturers at Hong Duc University on the basic contents of the Law on Prevention and Control of Domestic Violence, the Law on Gender Equality; gender mainstreaming; how to develop a plan to promote gender equality; and also shared and answered some of the trainees' concerns and resolved some practical situations in their localities.
