According to assessments, the work of caring for and promoting the role of the elderly continues to receive attention from all levels and sectors. The proportion of elderly people in poor households is 3,6%, near-poor is 11,6%, higher than the national average.
According to Decree No. 20/2021/ND-CP of the Government stipulating social support policies for social protection subjects, elderly people in one of the following cases are entitled to social benefits monthly, including: Elderly people in poor households who do not have anyone with the obligation and right to care for them, or someone who has the obligation and right to care for them but this person is receiving monthly social benefits.
