These activities not only meet the needs of celebrating the Lunar New Year and improving the cultural and spiritual lives of the people, but also serve as an opportunity to promote the image of the locality and inspire aspirations for the province to become increasingly prosperous, beautiful, and civilized.
Attractive cultural and artistic activities
One of the cultural activities organized annually by the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department in coordination with relevant units is the Spring Newspaper Fair. The Spring Newspaper Fair 2026 (Year of the Horse) took place at the Dong Nai Provincial Library, Tan Trieu Ward (from February 11th to 27th), showcasing and providing readers and tourists with access to spring newspapers and magazines from press agencies, departments, and sectors inside and outside the province; and offering opportunities to admire artistic photographs, current events, politics , and the country and people of Dong Nai. In addition, the Dong Nai Provincial Library also organized an artistic book arrangement and displayed hundreds of books about the Party, President Ho Chi Minh, and the culture and history of Dong Nai province.
This year, the province will have 10 locations for fireworks displays on New Year's Eve, specifically: Hoa An Bridge (Tran Bien Ward), Long Khanh Ward Stadium, the social housing area in the Cau Xeo planned residential area (Long Thanh Commune), Tan Phu Commune General Service Center, Dai Phuoc Commune football field, Suoi Cam Lake ( Binh Phuoc Ward), Phu Long Commercial Area (An Loc Ward), Bu Dang Commune Administrative Center, Suoi Doi Urban and Commercial Service Area (Chon Thanh Ward), and Adamas Square - Diamond City Loc Ninh (Loc Ninh Commune).
Specifically, a special art program will take place from 8:30 PM to midnight on February 16th (29th of the Lunar New Year) with the participation of artists from Ho Chi Minh City, the Dong Nai Art Theater, and the Dong Nai Provincial Culture and Film Center. The program will be broadcast live on Dong Nai Newspaper and Radio & Television from two locations: Hoa An Bridge area (Tran Bien ward) and Suoi Cam Lake area (Binh Phuoc ward).
According to Ton Thi Thanh Tinh, Director of the Dong Nai Provincial Cultural and Film Center, in addition to performing arts, the center also organized a series of programs celebrating the Party and the Lunar New Year. These included the 2026 Dong Nai Provincial Modern Dance Group Competition; traditional folk music and cải lương (Vietnamese opera) exchanges in Binh Phuoc and Long Binh wards; the Dong Nai Provincial Amateur Arts Club Competition; the Dong Nai Photo Exhibition on Integration and Development in Loc Thanh commune; and the "Spring Offering to the Party" Exhibition in Binh Phuoc ward.
“In addition, the unit’s Mobile Propaganda Team and 7 mobile film screening teams have been organizing dozens of performances at the grassroots level; prioritizing serving people in remote areas, ethnic minority regions, border areas, workers in industrial zones, and those living in rented accommodations… These activities aim to create conditions for rural people and migrant workers to enjoy art while celebrating Tet in Dong Nai, contributing to spreading traditional values during Tet,” Ms. Tinh said.
Many unique Tet cultural spaces
During the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026, the Dong Nai Provincial Museum (Tan Trieu Ward) will be open free of charge, serving the needs of locals and tourists for visits and experiences. In particular, the museum will be showcasing Bien Hoa Ceramics with over 200 traditional and contemporary ceramic products and presenting a miniature Vietnamese Tet (Lunar New Year) themed space until February 22nd (the 6th day of the first lunar month). The exhibition space is decorated with red couplets, paper firecrackers, bamboo tables and chairs, rush mats, teapots, and melon seeds, vividly recreating traditional Tet customs; the local agricultural products stall also contributes to creating a warm and culturally rich Tet atmosphere.
To ensure that the Lunar New Year celebrations in 2026 are joyful and safe, the Inspectorate of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in coordination with relevant units and localities, is strengthening inspection and supervision in the fields of culture, sports, tourism, and festivals. This will allow for timely correction of violations, creating conditions for people to celebrate the New Year safely and in a civilized manner.
The Spring Flower Street for the Year of the Horse (Bính Ngọ) is one of the most interesting and attractive destinations for people to visit during the Lunar New Year. With the theme: "Spring of Connection - Tet as One Family," the Nguyen Van Tri Flower Street (Tran Bien Ward) will open on the evening of February 13th and run until February 22nd. The Nguyen Van Tri Flower Street, with a total length of over 600m, runs from the intersection of Hoang Minh Chau and Nguyen Van Tri streets to the new Hoa An bridge. Meanwhile, in Binh Phuoc Ward, this year's spring flower street will be located at 23-3 Square (Hung Vuong extended road and 6-1 road). With the theme: "Spring of Aspiration - Breakthrough, Striving - Building the Future," the flower street will open on the evening of February 14th and run until February 24th.
According to Nguyen Xuan Thanh, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Council of Tam Hiep Ward: “This year, the locality is focusing on building a cultural space at Duong Tu Giang Park to become a unique highlight for spring excursions. With a diverse range of activities, from art performances and lion and dragon dances to the creation of a light-filled pathway and a spring flower festival… organized throughout the year to serve the needs of people celebrating the Lunar New Year, contributing to creating a joyful and culturally rich spring season.”
Lively sports and physical activities
Alongside cultural activities, numerous sports competitions attracted a large number of athletes from February 1st to 22nd. People had the opportunity to admire impressive performances at the Kickboxing Club Championship, traditional martial arts competitions, and especially the expanded Dong Nai province lion and dragon dance festival celebrating the Party and the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026.
On February 28th (the 12th day of the first lunar month), the area along the Dong Nai River in front of Tan Lan communal house (Tran Bien ward) will become the focal point for the Dong Nai Province Open Boat Race. This is a traditional sporting event held annually at the beginning of spring, attracting participation from many boat teams from localities inside and outside the province. It provides a healthy and exciting playground for athletes while contributing to the preservation and promotion of the traditional cultural values of Dong Nai province.
With a rich array of cultural and sporting activities, the atmosphere of welcoming the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026 in Dong Nai province is even more vibrant and widespread. This meets the people's need for cultural and spiritual enjoyment, creating a sense of excitement and confidence for a new year filled with promising prospects.
