Banks are closed on the occasion of April 30 - May 1, what should customers pay attention to?

According to Notice No. 6150/TB-BLDTBXH in 2024 of the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, this year's holiday schedule is arranged as follows:

Officials, civil servants, and public employees will have their working days swapped from Friday, May 2, 2025 to Saturday, April 26, 2025 to have 5 consecutive days off from Wednesday, April 30, 2025 to Sunday, May 4, 2025 (working on Saturday, April 26, 2025 in lieu).

For employees not included in the above subjects, employers are encouraged to apply the holiday time for Victory Day April 30 and International Labor Day May 1, 2025 for employees as prescribed for cadres, civil servants and public employees.

Some banks may adjust their holiday/working schedule to suit the actual business situation of each unit. Currently, many banks such as Vietcombank, BIDV, VietinBank, ACB. Techcombank... have confirmed information about the 5-day long holiday this year. It is known that although branches are temporarily closed, banks still maintain the operation of 24/7 electronic banking channels such as Internet Banking, Mobile Banking and ATM and encourage customers to use these services. Some branches in large cities or tourist destinations will arrange staff on duty to support customers when necessary.

Banks also said that some types of transactions such as loan disbursement, counter transactions, savings deposits with maturity dates falling on holidays... may be suspended and processed after the holiday. Therefore, customers should carefully check the information at the bank they are using or contact the hotline directly to know the holiday schedule and support services during the holiday.

Customers also need to pay attention to the payment deadline of their loans during the holiday, each bank will have specific policies. As VPBank recently advised, for loans with a due date of April 30, 2025 - May 4, 2025, customers will receive a payment notification message on May 5, 2025.

For loans, credit card balances, and overdrafts that are overdue from April 30, 2025 to May 4, 2025, VPBank requests customers to immediately pay all overdue balances (principal, interest, overdue interest, overdue penalty interest, etc.) before 5:00 p.m. on April 30, 2025.

Meanwhile, for overdrafts due from April 30, 2025 to May 4, 2025 at VPBank, if customers pay before 5:00 p.m. on May 5, 2025, the system will not consider them overdue.
