On the afternoon of July 4, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee held a conference to hand over the duties of Secretary of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee when merging and consolidating provincial administrative units between comrade Le Hong Quang (member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Internal Affairs Committee, former Secretary of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee before the merger) and comrade Nguyen Tien Hai (member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee).

The conference approved the results of the implementation of the organizational structure; implementation of the Resolution of the 11th Provincial Party Congress, term 2020 - 2025; activities of the steering committees headed by comrade Le Hong Quang; results of the implementation of Conclusion 148-KL/TW, dated April 8, 2025 of the Politburo and the Secretariat; the performance of the role of Secretary of the Provincial Military Party Committee, in charge of the Chau Doc City Party Committee, the Provincial Public Security Party Committee, the Provincial Border Guard Party Committee; a number of key tasks being carried out; on the Party's finances and assets.

Speaking at the conference, comrade Le Hong Quang affirmed that over the past 4 years, since he took on the task of Provincial Party Secretary, An Giang has faced many difficulties and challenges. However, with the spirit of solidarity, responsibility, consensus, support and efforts of comrades, colleagues and all the people, An Giang has gradually overcome difficulties, the economy has achieved many important achievements; society is guaranteed. The work of building and rectifying the Party and the political system to be clean and strong in all aspects has made much progress. National defense and security have been maintained, foreign relations have been increasingly expanded. Regimes and policies for the poor and people with meritorious services have received timely attention and support. Many projects have been implemented, such as: Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang Expressway, completion of the National Highway 91 connection, Long Xuyen bypass and Chau Doc bridge... gradually removing bottlenecks in traffic infrastructure, creating conditions for socio-economic development and people's lives. In particular, the Ba Chua Xu Festival of Sam Mountain was recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

An Giang Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Tien Hai affirmed that he will, together with the Standing Committee and the Provincial Party Standing Committee, focus on leading, directing, and implementing well the resolutions, guidelines, conclusions, and policies of the Central Committee, especially the contents and tasks related to the activities of the provincial and communal-level apparatus, ensuring continuous, smooth, and effective operations. Continue to focus on improving the leadership capacity and fighting strength of grassroots party organizations and the quality of party members; build a team of cadres, civil servants, and public employees to ensure moral qualities, qualifications, abilities, sense of responsibility, and dedication to work. Strengthen inspection, supervision, and enforcement of Party discipline. Continue to direct the immediate review of programs, resolutions, and plans of the two provinces to develop and promulgate as a basis for organizing implementation, ensuring that they are consistent with the potential, advantages, space, and development opportunities in the coming time. Pay attention to cultural and social development, take good care of people's lives; develop high-quality education and training; invest in building a network of medical examination and treatment facilities, ensure social security, improve people's income and living standards. Focus on leading to ensure national defense and security, firmly protect national independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity, protect sovereignty over seas and islands; build a strong national defense posture and people's security posture in the area.
