On December 5, Chieng La commune held a ceremony to relocate 30 households according to the project of arranging residents in disaster areas in Quay village, old Chieng Ngam commune (now Chieng La commune).

Due to the impact of storm No. 3 in 2024, causing prolonged heavy rain, landslides, and subsidence in Quay village, directly affecting 30 households. To ensure safety and stabilize the lives of people in areas affected by natural disasters, on June 5, 2025, the Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 1313/QD-UBND approving the Project on resettlement of residents in urgent disaster areas due to the impact of storm No. 3 in Quay village, Chieng Ngam commune, Thuan Chau district (now Chieng La commune).

After nearly 6 months of construction, the project has completed leveling 30/30 house foundations and building internal roads, with a total length of 1.14 km. Construction of domestic water lines has reached 71% of the volume; electricity lines have reached 87% of the volume... Enough conditions for 30 households in Quay village to resettle.

Immediately after the moving ceremony, more than 100 officers and soldiers of the armed forces, youth union members, women's union members, and commune officials, civil servants, and public employees, together with the people, supported households in Quay village to dismantle, load, transport furniture, and build houses at the resettlement site.
