Vietnam in Cambodia's Top 5 export markets

Cambodia's five largest export markets include the United States, Vietnam, Japan, China and Canada.

According to the General Department of Customs and Excise of Cambodia, in the first four months of the year, the country's total export turnover reached 9.13 billion USD, up 14% over the same period last year. Cambodia's main export items include garments, footwear, tourism products, bicycles, car tires, solar panels and potential agricultural products such as rice, rubber, cassava, bananas, mangoes and longans.

Cambodia's five largest export markets include the United States, Vietnam, Japan, China and Canada.

On the other hand, Cambodia imported a total of 10.36 billion USD worth of goods in the first four months of the year, up 19.7% over the same period last year. The main imported items included petroleum, raw materials for the garment industry, footwear and tourism products, means of transport, machinery, electronic equipment and consumer goods.

Previously, according to a report by the Vietnam Customs Department, in the first quarter of 2025, Vietnam exported 28 main items to Cambodia. Textiles and garments were the largest export item with a turnover of 233 million USD, up 16.9% over the same period last year.

Items with turnover of over 100 million USD include iron and steel with 211.2 million USD, up 15.6% over the same period last year; textile and footwear materials and accessories reached 101.9 million USD, up 13.9% over the same period last year.

The total export turnover of the above three products reached 547 million USD, accounting for 41% of Vietnam's total export value to Cambodia.

Regarding imports, in the first quarter, Vietnam imported 13 main items from Cambodia. Cashew nuts accounted for the largest proportion with a turnover of 496 million USD, down 15.2% over the same period last year. Rubber ranked second on the import list with 237 million USD, up 32.3% over the same period last year. The total import turnover of these two items reached 734 million USD, accounting for 38% of Vietnam's total import value from Cambodia in the first quarter of 2025.
