Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Diep, Vice Chairwoman of the City People's Committee, assigned the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to coordinate with sectors and localities to strengthen propaganda for traders to ensure safety in trading, entertainment, and civilized tourism services.
The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism reviews and synthesizes proposals from units related to Cai Rang Floating Market to advise the City People's Committee; the Department of Finance reviews and advises on matters related to funding for a number of tasks of managing and developing floating markets. Based on the previous Project on Preservation and Promotion of Cai Rang Floating Market, the Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee suggested that the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism take the lead in continuing to develop the next project to aim for long-term and sustainable development of floating markets.

Mr. Sam Long Giang, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Can Tho City, said that in the coming time, the Department will survey and document information, documents, artifacts, and spaces for practicing the cultural heritage of Cai Rang Floating Market, contributing to protecting, introducing, and promoting the floating market. The Department will promote propaganda about the code of conduct for civilized tourism, link up to build tours to attract tourists at the floating market; and mobilize businesses to research and build tourism products at Cai Rang Floating Market.
The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism promotes tourism promotion activities through effective exploitation of marketing, communication tools, use of the internet, and application of technology in advertising and promotion.
The city authorities have invested in building the Can Tho river embankment - responding to climate change, building a new floating market pier and related items, upgrading Nguyen Viet Dung street (the road to Cai Rang floating market). Many tourist service points connecting Cai Rang floating market have been established to serve tourists well, such as Que Toi rest stop, Ben Do Xua homestay, Nine homestay...

According to local authorities, there are currently over 200 traders at Cai Rang Floating Market, mainly trading in tubers, fruits, food and beverage services, souvenirs and picking up tourists. Recently, local authorities have stepped up propaganda and mobilized people and traders to comply with legal regulations on ensuring waterway traffic safety, product quality, selling prices, standards of waterway vehicles, vehicle registration and inspection and carrying no more people than the number of people allowed.
