This training session focuses on the application and mastery of artificial intelligence (AI) to improve work efficiency.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is unlocking groundbreaking possibilities in competition management. With its ability to process and analyze massive amounts of data from sources such as e-commerce transactions, social media, and corporate profiles, AI can help detect anti-competitive practices such as monopolies, anti-competitive agreements, or abuse of dominant position – signs that are difficult for humans to recognize.

Mr. Trinh Anh Tuan also stated that AI has enormous potential in processing big data, detecting anti-competitive behavior, supporting investigations, assessing the impact of M&A transactions, and improving the efficiency of receiving, analyzing, and responding to consumer complaints.

"In the context of a rapidly developing digital economy , with the dizzying increase in data and complex business models, competition and consumer protection agencies are facing increasingly significant challenges. Detecting sophisticated anti-competitive practices, effectively handling large volumes of consumer complaints, and predicting potential market trends require new tools and approaches," said Mr. Trinh Anh Tuan.

AI also helps to objectively and comprehensively assess the impact of mergers and acquisitions (M&A) on the competitive environment, thereby supporting authorities in making more accurate decisions.

Furthermore, AI contributes to automating the investigation and evidence gathering process by rapidly sifting through millions of documents, emails, and electronic data, saving time and allowing focus on key elements. In addition, AI can build models to predict market trends and provide early warnings of potential risks, enabling regulatory agencies to proactively intervene and maintain a healthy competitive environment.

In the field of consumer protection, AI also shows significant potential. Intelligent chatbot systems can receive, categorize, and respond to complaints quickly and efficiently. This reduces the workload for customer service departments and improves the user experience. AI can also analyze complaint data to identify prominent issues, common violations, and businesses with signs of repeat offenses, helping regulatory agencies focus resources on more effective handling.

In particular, AI allows for the personalization of information and alerts for each consumer based on their shopping behavior, preferences, and online interactions, helping them make smart decisions and avoid falling into scams. Thanks to its ability to analyze anomalies, AI also contributes to the early detection and prevention of online fraud such as fake websites or deceptive promotions, helping to protect consumers in an increasingly complex digital environment.

However, Mr. Trinh Anh Tuan also emphasized that, although the potential of AI is enormous, we also need to be aware of the challenges in deploying AI applications in this field.

" These could be issues related to data quality and availability, the complexity of AI algorithms requiring highly qualified experts, ethical and accountability issues of AI systems, and concerns about user data privacy," analyzed Mr. Trinh Anh Tuan.

AI is becoming a key driver of innovation.

At the workshop, Ms. Vu Thi Hanh, an AI solutions expert at Viettel's Data Services and Artificial Intelligence Center (Viettel AI), noted that over the past decade, artificial intelligence has moved beyond the experimental phase in a few fields and has become a key driving force for innovation and development across almost all industries.

During the workshop, experts shared fundamental knowledge about AI; and introduced several virtual assistants – artificial intelligence tools and software capable of supporting administrative office tasks.

In addition, experts also guided officials, workers, and youth union members on using artificial intelligence tools such as: writing standard commands for AI chatbots, composing music using AI, creating presentations, etc.

At the workshop, Mr. Trinh Anh Tuan affirmed that, with the joint efforts of all stakeholders, the intelligent and effective application of AI will bring about significant advancements in competition management and the protection of consumers' legitimate rights.

"Let's work together to explore, experiment with, and deploy innovative AI solutions to build a healthy competitive business environment and best protect consumers in the digital age," Mr. Trinh Anh Tuan emphasized.

Previously, the Industry and Trade Newspaper also organized many training sessions on applying artificial intelligence (AI) in modern journalism, demonstrating its readiness for a new step forward in building a "modern, politically-oriented, and integrated" newsroom.
